[This is Christmas. House's idea of Christmas, anyway. Sudden onset of deadly illnesses with disjointed and impossible progression of symptoms, and him not affected? Christmas! Someone out there loves him. Granted, he might not be able to help anyone get better and that's lame, but answers. Answers are something he is particularly prepared to provide. House is also curious if there's some psychosomatic effect at work here that might let him influence people. He goes on audio for this, and someone sounds almost gleeful.]

Hello, sick people! Dr. House here. I am a board certified medical professional and tenured professor of diagnostics at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in Princeton, New Jersey. I have a double specialty infectious disease and nephrology and head the only Department of Diagnostic Medicine in the world in my universe.

All that said... tell me what ails you, Snowhell. Details required. Pics if you need them. Allow me to diagnose you. This service is free of charge for today only! Or however long this whole thing lasts. I'll even prescribe you meds if they're relevant to your condition. Step right up, then! Don't be shy.

It should go without saying, but I am limited to identification and diagnosis of Earth-based diseases. So if you've got a different name in your universe for the measels, I'm still calling them the measels.

((OOC: While House is an ace diagnostician, I am very much not. It would be helpful for me if you could indicate the disease or diseases your character is suffering from for the event or indicate that the constellation of symptoms was pulled at random/non-Earth-based.))

[ Angel is so ill she can barely move. She's burning up, in constant agony, and her hands are shaking too badly for her to type.

She still manages to turn on the audio to deliver a very important message, though. ]

[ That's a "no, you shouldn't be enjoying it, at least not so obviously" and a "no, that's not a symptom, you're gross." In case it wasn't clear.

It takes a few seconds of laboured breathing before she can continue. ]

Burning in -- my skin. Veins.

[ The symptoms are pretty close to eridium poisoning, but since she isn't leaking glowy purple blood she can't be sure. Slag poisoning seems more likely, from what she's seen of Hyperion's test data.

Either option will kill her slowly and painfully, so. It's all pretty academic unless House identifies it as something else. ]

Mastocytosis, maybe... [House does love his zebras.] Any skin involvement? Lesions? A rash?

[Why does he sound like this. Why isn't he suffering. This isn't fair.]

[It seemed like everyone is having pretty much the same reaction to House. As expected.]

So he wasn't the Joker, unless the Joker went to med school in his spare time. And sounded like a different person.

You really should come to Gotham. It's got a wide variety of bottomless cesspools. Not so much the disease, unless somebody got clever. It happens.

Symptoms of vertigo, but to the point of motion sickness. Fever, ringing in the ears, blurred vision. Like a hangover but without the fun part beforehand.

[To be fair, he'd been hitting the bottle pretty bad back home, even if he had been leveling off recently. Between that and chasing the occasional glass with pain pills when he was in a bad way in the mornings, it's not too entirely unexpected. The intense fever was what worried him.]

It's probably just vertigo. What exactly is going on here?

You're having trouble talking. Go on vid so I can see the bruising and sores. I want to see the pattern and nature of everything. I also want a look at your eyes. See if there's any cornea involvement.

Congrats, though, we can rule out leprosy and Albright's syndrome based on the coloring.

Yeah, I'll take a hard pass on that, bro. Too many actual clowns for my personal tastes. I like them best at a distance. Like, the next universe over kinda distances.

And 'just vertigo' doesn't manifest with a fever. The nanomachines are flipping out again, probably. So, you've got 'just vertigo' and probably some sort of '-itis' to go with it. Any neck pain?

Ugh.

[ Eloquent. It seems to be a noise of assent, though, since it's followed by fumbling noises as she wrangles with the tablet. The video doesn't reveal anything good. The bruising and purplish, burn-like sores vary in severity and seem to be placed at random around her body. With some effort, she pulls her sweat-soaked hair off her face so House can check her eyes.

They're as clear and glowy as always. There's some mild discolouration around the sockets, but at least it doesn't look like full bruising? ]

Dying.

since a bunch of people are sick doesnt it seem likelier that this is some weird norfinbury thing affecting everyone

They never let this stuff actually kill us. Not unless we make the effort to end the suffering. Do the lesions itch? Just more of the burning? Are they oozing anything? Or were they earlier?

Nope! Health as a horse. Lucky me. Lucky all of you. Last time it took me a little longer to diagnose the radiation sickness thanks to having it myself. Not exactly firing on all cylinders, especially when you have an unnatural and mechanically-induced symptom onset pattern.

M'cold.

[ Slow breathing. He sounds more petulant than normal, though not in a particularly angry way. Just... confused. ]

[ It was hard to tell that Will was looking worse than he normally looked. The key tells were the fact that he had wrapped himself up in his puppy blanket, his blue eyes glittered with a fever and he was shivering constantly.

It was hard to pespire with fever, when the moisture almost immediately froze off your body. Though his hair was lank, suggesting he had rammed his fingers through it multiple times.

Will had also retreated to the furthest corner of away from everyone he could manage, and was curled up on the floor. ]

What ... [ he began, stopped and dry swallowed, before gritting his teeth to ensure he could get through his words. ] Acts like the flu, but doesn't bother with any pesky congestion?

[ He was teasing, though failing as he struggled with focus. ]
