[network] @ADMIN; Arrival
Welcome to Norfinbury. The time is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R and the date is E̛̬̞͖͖̫R҉͖̯̬R̼̻͉̰͎̳̙O̩͓͔̫͇͈̯R. This network has been provided for your use. Please interact politely with everyone else on this network.

And it's kinda hard to explain because of the whole they're-always-different thing. There's always something *wrong,* but the specifics vary.
I've seen anomalies that look like the corpses of people I know, or ones that look monstrous and unrecognisable aside from a few features. And there are some that don't look like anyone (as far as I know) too, of course. Those are a lot easier to deal with.
(And by "deal with" I mean "run away from as fast as you can and hole up in the nearest building")
wow intro thread and already i'm failing at html
On a serious note though, apologies if this is an upsetting topic or anything like that. I'm just curious.
I'm judging you massively tbh
In my case, I don't have many friends who are dead or otherwise absent from Norfinbury, so the anomalies only rarely resemble anyone I care about. One of the many perks of being a loner shut-in back home!! :PPPP
That's a thing I didn't mention, actually. The anomalies don't take the forms of anyone who is 1)here and 2)alive. So if you know anyone and they're already around, you don't have to worry about them being used against you!
unu
[Unless someone here has played a game called Doki Doki Literature Club. Which would be all kinds of awkward.]
But hopefully I'll be able to handle it even if I run into anomalies that look like my friends. I'm pretty good at keeping a clear head even in bad situations.

So it might be worth your while to check back through the network, or drop some names. Assuming a familiar face would be welcome, of course.
(If there are people you'd rather *not* see then you can stay hidden from them too! Just covering all the bases here.)
(Not that I'm saying you seem like someone who'd have enemies worth hiding from??)
(I'm bad at this)

though there are some people who might not be the happiest ever to see me? But I'll know if I see them around.
I guess if someone mentions a literature club you could direct them my way since they might be talking about the one I had back home

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anyone talking about anything like that. Unless you count the time Steph and Zach read book extracts over the network, but I'm pretty certain that we're talking about very different things.
But don't lose hope! Even if nobody you know shows up, most people here are really friendly and supportive. You won't be alone or anything for long! ♥

But it was important to me
Still, I'm kind of surprised at how nice everyone has been so far.
That's not what you'd usually expect from a post-apocalyptic frozen hellscape, right?
Not that I'm complaining.

(That's what clubs do, right? Generally??)
And it *is* pretty weird that there are so many nice people around. Fortunate, though. Terrible living conditions and resource scarcity tends to bring out the best and worst in people, I guess.
But even the *bandits* are nice here! Mostly.

Especially poetry. That's what most our group activities focused on.
Wait, what was that about bandits? Should I be worrying about getting robbed when I meet someone?
no subject
I was kinda imagining meetings where you all brought in dusty old thick hardback non-electronic books and discussed themes and author intent and. Stuff.
Can you tell I never went to school?? :P
And um no
Not really!
There've been a few incidents of theft but they've either been in extreme circumstances *or* enacted against complete douchebags.
Stay away from the creepy clown guy, though
(You probably don't even have to be told that? It's kinda common sense :\\\\\\\)

But there was some literary analysis and stuff like that too!
Or at least I like to think there would have been if the club had lasted.
As it is, we never got to do a lot before things kind of ended.
Staying away from creepy clown guys does seem like common sense, yeah.
I guess I'll be generally a little wary when meeting people since it's not like you can know who you might meet here
Though come to think of it, in these circumstances helping each other really is the most reasonable option...
So that's probably why people tend to be helpful: it's just in your own best interests to cooperate.
