MOMMING INTENSIFIES
Yes, Twolegs are 'humans'. They live in Twolegplaces - they call them towns? [She speaks carefully, still trying to comprehend what's going on.] Leafbare is when the weather gets cold enough that the trees can't keep their leaves, and it snows instead of rain.
[And then a pause...]
I'm a cat. My name is Bluestar. What are you?
lol I saw what you did there with the edit
Winter.
[ A beat. ]
They call it winter. And there's Spring, Summer and Fall.
[ A cat? This must be the kind of creature other people have been telling him about. ]
Do you like laps? [ It's a weird question but you can't blame him. That's how cats where introduced to him just now, and he did not understand the lap thing. ] Name's Rocket. I'm ... me. [ It's unclear by his tone whether he's purposefully not saying, or because he doesn't even know. ]
<3
Those must be seasons. We call them newleaf, greenleaf, leaf-fall and leafbare.
[It's a much better system.
She pauses as she mulls over the latter information.]
I don't know what a lap is. [Lapping is... drinking water? What an odd question, he must mean some Twoleg term.] ...You don't have to tell me what you are. I was just being curious.

So I'm guessing leaves are kindaof a big deal to you cats then.
[ As for not knowing what a lap is ... well, at least it's consistent with the fact that she doesn't know most of the nouns he's mentioned so far. ]
Well, it's none your business. None of ANYONE's business. [ That time, it's clear he's saying that to anyone who might be listening. ] And you won't find anything else like me, that's for sure.

Leaves are the easiest way to tell the seasons.
[Duh?]
Well, you're right about that. I've never met anyone of your kind at all. But it is good to see someone like me. I was beginning to fear I'd never see a furry face that wasn't Silverpelt's.

There's a hint of a smile on Rocket's face when she says that though, because despite how rude he's being, he can't seem to stop looking at her. He's seen hundreds if not thousands of species, but animals the size of him usually can't talk like him — and well, Bluestar ... he can read the twitch of her ears and the bristles of her fur. Even if they aren't the same, he hasn't spoken to someone in that way in quite some time. ]
Silverpelt. Another cat?
[ Which, leads him to ask something he has to know the answer to. ]
Can all cats talk? Or is it just you?
no subject
[And apparently he just never stopped her from calling him Silverpelt even though that's not his name.]
Cats can speak to each other, but not to Twolegs or... you. [???] I think the glowbox is what's making me be able to speak.

Wait so, what do you sound like without this thing? [ Universal translators aren't a new concept, but Rocket sounds exactly like he does in real life, so it didn't occur to him that she was talking in some other language. ] Guess I'll have to find out in person.
no subject
[She has a vague understanding of what "in person" means. She's never had to worry about it before.]

This area can't be too large, I'm sure we can find each other.
[Oh, Bluestar. You have no idea.]
