[network|video] @quark; Meals on Wheels [open] [Day 294]
Hey guys! What’s up? It’s been about a week or so, so just checking in!
[At least outwardly, Quark these days isn’t seeming so worse for wear. Twenty-one years old, he’s decently energetic and seems to have generally overcome the long-standing depression he was suffering as a youngster. Still, to those who have known him pretty well, he’s certainly lost something in his eyes. Well-meaning he may be, but hopeful he isn’t. This terrible place might as well have always and will always be his home. He never mentions anything about leaving. About things getting better.]
Anyone having trouble with cabin fever or need help with anything else? I just did a run for food and medical supplies so if anyone needs a restock I’m happy to head your way. Don’t worry about straining yourself if you don’t think you have the energy to travel long distances today.
[A pause, and he looks a bit more sheepish, awkward. He’s still new at this kind of thing, so he isn’t too sure how to smoothly transition into it.]
Also, uh…anyone want to have a few drinks with me? I found a bottle of whiskey and I was hoping to share it with some good company.

[Older or not, Quark is very much still definitely his kid.]

[Quark laughs, but can't help being a little concerned. Hopefully Magenta hasn't been drinking too much, not that he can blame anyone from wanting to take any escape they can get in this place.]
Mostly, I just need to restock on some of my medical supplies. They're so hard to come by...but I don't like having an empty medical bag. You never know when someone's gonna need stitches around here.

[His seniors: aka literally everyone.]
I'm heading toward the ice tunnels. Was gonna see if anything good's shown up at the hospital. Fortunately, I haven't had to do much work on anyone. I'm still learning how to do the more hardcore stuff, so...I'm glad everyone's keeping safe.

[Magenta laughs, soft and strained.]
Alright, Junior Doctor. I'm sure you'll be gettin' to the hardcore stuff in no time at all--seems like the weather's gettin' bad.
@Enoch; video
Would that I could.
[He doesn't feel right accepting drinks from anyone. He owed someone a drink once, long ago. He never made good on that, and now he never can.]
Do you need anything, Quark? Anything I could bring?

[Quark's come to learn that it seems to be exceptionally hard for the less-than-human people stuck here. He tries not to push them so hard.]
If you have any extra medical supplies you don't mind parting with, I'm trying to make sure I keep stocked up on the basics. Other than that, thanks for asking, but I don't need much. Doing what I can for the rest of you is enough to keep me happy.
[Or whatever kind of happiness he's learned to find for himself as he entered adulthood.]

It's been a long time since I've been near the hospital and pharmacy... There isn't much to be found here in the cult's territory, I'm afraid.
It's a noble thing you do, Quark...I'm glad to see you're also taking care of yourself.
[Once a hypocrite, always a hypocrite. Enoch still doesn't, after a couple hundred more years.]

[He remembers how prone to depression Enoch has been in the past--hell, Quark was there himself, at a much younger age than he ever had any right to be. He knows an upbeat attitude won't just suddenly make everything better, but it's the least he can do to try and boost Enoch's spirits. The man has done so much for him. Was there for him so often.]

[It's bittersweet, but...someone needs to protect them. Beckett, if he were in his right mind, would want someone to look after any versions of them that arrive. These two, he is obligated to aid, and this pair is graying. It won't be long before ill health creeps up on them worse than it ever had when they were young.
But Quark...poor thing. He's watched him live out most of his life here before, too, even more than they ever did.]
I appreciate your concern, Quark. I think I've been handling myself better than I once did. I was once even worse than this, you know, long before your time here. You don't need to worry about me.
[Which of course doesn't make any sense, but that's just how this works. Quark's seen a decade, he's seen more than a century.]

[It's been years since Stephen lost track of the fact that Billy isn't a young man anymore, and that Quark is no longer a child. Whole decades tend to slip his mind.]

I'll be careful! That's why I want to make sure I'm with someone. Less danger when I can be supervised.
no subject
[Not necessarily supervision.]

[Man, even these days he still can't get away with being alone for too long, can he? He gets it now, though. More than he did when he was still a kid.]
I try to always travel with someone. It just makes sense. You're in good company right now too, I hope?
no subject
[No, he's not.]
Claire's going to meet up with us.
[No, she isn't.]
no subject
Claire, huh...?
[That sounds...highly suspicious. And fake. And Quark is worried.]
Got room for one more? Maybe I can come find you, I'd like to see all of you again! Where are you right now?
no subject
[Hang on. Wait a minute.]
Something, there's something -- we're...not in the radiation zone.
