This is the best news I've gotten all week.

It's great news.

We're trying the snow tonight, but the cupboards work.

[Well well, if it isn't her blond pointy-eared rude buddy from her very first day! She'd thought about him off and on since they talked, and she's very glad he's apparently ok and not dead or something. She goes for audio, since it's easiest to use while she's walking through the snow on her Search For Useful Stuff And Especially Soap.]

[the whistling wind might clue him in that she's outdoors, but her voice is still intelligible over the sound.]

do you think it works with more than just food?
like... clothes too. or other supplies.

it could be good to have some things set aside for later, just in case...
you never know when you'll need a good sweater.

[ Intelligable her words might be thanks to the whistling wind, but he can make out the tone. It causes a smile to come to his face, especially when he puts the voice to the id and knows who it is. She was working close with Al, from what he knew, and was sensible when they'd spoken. She knew her stuff. ]

It's good news. You can put some supplies by when you get in tonight.

[ His voice might be a bit muffled, but he's indoors, so it can be made out a lot more readily. ]

We tried with food but you can try with clothes if you have spare and let us know.

We can't put any of these by we need them.

I certainly will! There's not much left to set aside, though, to tell the truth. We've been searching for more food, but...

[she trails off with a sigh and an implied shrug, but then perks up:]

Well, I haven't only got bad news—Link, look!

[she turns on the video, which only shows the steely gray sky and the snow-dusted brim of her hat.]

You remember Alphonse's message about snowshoes, don't you? He's lent me his pair.

Have you tried anything besides food?

So setting up waystations with the restocking supplies will work, then, it's just a matter of getting it set up.

[ Link listens to her over the wind, pleased that she seems happy despite not having much to spare. Hopefully that could and would change as way stations were set up. He really hoped so - things like that could be really helpful for the people who were doing searches. Maybe once things got all set up, then people who didn't want to do searches could keep those kept up, and...

... He was going on a mental tangent, probably just staring at nothing. In fact, he was. Freya wasn't showing him much of anything - just a steely grey sky and a bit of a hat.

What had she said? Snowshoes? Oh.

He blinks at the feed, waiting, then clears his throat. ]

It's Al's idea. We'd just been to the school and got supplies so we thought we should try.

Good luck with the clothes I hope it works. This could really help with finding things out.

Yes it could make things a lot easier for people wanting to find out about the place.

No need to worry about food if it's there and they could say when they take anything from a building on the network.

Not yet we don't have anything else to spare.

Someone else wants to try clothes.

[So it's not until a bit after lockdown when Clayton actually gets around to extensively checking the network and responding to things, but once he does he's very happy he did. What an excellent development to return to!]

That's good news! Al, if you're reading this, I take back all the mean things I said about you.

Please let me know if this works for other items/hiding spots ASAP. If it does, I could set up medical stations--remove the risk of travel or time without basic treatment.

[mildly embarrassed, she taps on the screen to flip the camera the other way. At first, it's a screen full of snow, but she adjusts the view to show him her feet, wrapped up in what looks like strips of upholstery and strapped into a pair of rough but functional snowshoes. They're too big for her and the wrong shape, being made for Al, but she's adjusted the bindings to compensate.]

There—see? They're awfully useful. A shame we haven't got the means to make a lot all at once, to give out.

[Something had really brightened Clayton's day all of a sudden, so of course Enoch had to go check it out.

And this is excellent news indeed.]

What an incredible find! So whatever cleans up after us doesn't check inside of things. I could save things that might be useful to someone else for them to find instead of hoping I encounter them!

What do you mean, food vanishes?

[Sorry, but this sounds slightly insane to someone who's still pretty new.]

Do you know how reliable it is with other supplies?

[ They do look useful. He grunts his understanding. He'd considered trying to make a pair for himself during the night of Al's broadcast, but there hadn't been the time. Or the materials, if truth be told.

He does clock that Freya's pair look a hell of a lot bigger made than they ought to be for her feet. Had she said he'd gave her his? He'd need to re-read (re-listen?) to the conversation again. ]

Can you walk across snow with them?

No we only had food to spare.

Yes it's really useful.

Just try testing other things too first.

Maybe stay two nights to make sure.

You can find different things in the houses every time you visist and some things vanish too.

We needed to see that it stayed and it does if it's in something.
