[network] @totheark; Video; Thanks a lot, Rob; Night (Post-Lockdown) 286[open][cw: character death]
*Like most of Brain's posts this one is made up of clips strung together. It starts with a shot of snow; words have been dug into it.*

*It stays on that for a few moments then switches to first person video of Brian approaching a metal building*. He pauses at the metal door for a moment then shows a keycard to the camera. Its missing a photo but it has a name. Robert Miller.
Brian tries the keycard on the door (this includes rubbing the card on the door as well as more conventional means). It doesn't open.
The last clip is just of Brian--or, some weird guy in a tan hoodie and a black mask (with a red :( on it) for anyone who doesn't know what to expect with @totheark. He waves, then turns the video off.*

And then there's the door not opening and finally Brian waving at the end.
It's after lockdown. The finality of that realization strikes him hard. ]
Brian? Brian?! C'mon, man. Tell me you got in! Brian?!

[ Shit, he's already going to the door to try to open it. They aren't that far away, and with the snowboards...
the door isn't opening. It's sealed up for the night. He knows. He knows from all the other times he tried this. He still tries to fight the door. ]
You can't!

Iwill letyou. Know. If re turn.

Swallowing back the wave of emotions as he tries to nod.
Then realizing that Brian can't really see that, he tries again. ]
I'll. I'll be waiting.

[And after he'd said he hoped it didn't strand anyone outside to die...]
I know it's never been any use but-
[Try to stay alive anyway? Something keeps him from saying those words. He's not sure what, just this nameless fear that saying that might somehow make it worse.]
...I was hoping if anyone could have made it through here it would be him. He must have access to something. It isn't fair that you're suffering for this.

I'd like to say I hope not, but we know how he acts. Try to prop up some large pieces of rubble to shield yourself from the wind. It will be more comfortable, at the very least.
[Why does this have to happen? It's bad enough when they die knowing what's out there anyway. For someone to die simply because they didn't have some obscure key? This place is so cruel, and every fresh reminder of it is one more too many.]

[ Yeah, he can switch on voice for this. He's not sure if Brian's really going to want to talk the whole time through, but he likes the guy enough to stick around at least. He clears his throat before he speaks, although he stays a little quieter than usual-- he's never sat through a death in progress like this, and it's awkward already. ]
Shit out of luck, huh. [ As if that wasn't already obvious. ] How long d'you, uh...figure you've got, out there?

*Beckett should understand that.*

You did what had to be done. You did... the right thing, after all.
[It is tangibly no comfort.]
