I'd ask how everyone's doing, but that's a bad question to ask after recent events.

[ Obviously tensions are high among certain parties, and people have died. Too many, in his opinion. But he didn't come on the network to go on his soapbox about death and murder. ]

I think some of you might have seen something. [ He coughs again. This is just not something he wants to be talking about, but he's already started and can't stop now. ]' Something involving me when I wasn't myself.

[ He half wishes he were in a more vengeful mood, then he'd do something like kick House or saw his cane in half again for putting videos like that on the network. But as it is, he's not, and it's a waste of time anyway. ]

Don't beat yourself up too much, you know? Most of us have tried to kill someone at one point or another since coming here.

We've all been through quite a lot lately.

I didn't kill anyone. [ He wouldn't be making a public post if he had. ] I just- Well, there was an experiment done involving me while I wasn't myself.

I'm not sure how many people saw it.

[ That really doesn't make him feel better, but he can at least appreciate the sentiment behind it. ]

They're the ones we should be feeling sorry for. [ He just got turned into a test subject because he didn't say no. It pales in comparison to what happened to others. ]

It didn't feel like anything. There were no thoughts or feelings, just complete blankness.

[ It's difficult to describe, because people aren't meant to be automatons. ]

Hm... Do you think it's not possible to feel sorry for everyone?

We don't need to compare suffering.

Would you mind telling me what happened? I saw the video but I admit I wasn't sure what the intention behind the experiment was.

Right, that's--that's what I figured. It's what happened to me, anyways. Reckon it was part of bein' sick? I've been so sick before that everything just kind of...you know, like you were saying. It gets very far away. I'm guessin' it was just a really awful form of the sick that everyone had, but I'm no doctor.

In this case? Yes.

[ Because he got off way easier than say, Quark or Luna, who he's never actually met, just heard talked about. ]

Well, I lost all sense of self, and House thought he might be able to fix me by injecting me with his blood. He thought that since he experienced the same symptoms I had after injecting himself with my blood, I'd experience his symptoms if I received his blood.

[ He makes a face that's more like a grimace, although chaos won't see it. Not that he can clearly recall the effects of the whole thing, but hemolytic transfusion reaction is nothing to mess around with. ]

So I take it you were not among the ones who attacked people?

...I wasn't either.

I wandered around in the dark for a while but that's it.

Your guesses are as good as mine. And why was it only certain people that were affected that way? [ The other question is why did only certain people start murdering others? There's probably no answer to either of those questions. ]

I should really go back over everything I read or watched while I was sick. I could swear I watched it but I have no memory of what actually happened.

[He remembers this man, the one with the dead girlfriend who he hadn't been at all pleased with Sherlock for deducing. Though that reminds him of Amber, and he's surprised to note that he misses her somewhat.]

[Brushing past the rest, he's at the end of his rope with everything that's been happening and now compounded by John behaving like a total fool.]

My previous consulting physician is indisposed and I require a prescription.

Maybe that's a good thing. I wish I didn't know what happened.

That's something people say about House a lot. I mean, they start off saying that, but then seem to have problems finishing it.

[ If Wilson learns that Sherlock knew Amber... Well, at least it's one other person who does. ]

[ He's not exactly worried about what it is Sherlock thinks he can do for him, just curious about the suddenness of this request. ]

What kind of prescription?

Mm. Maybe it's a shingles--...chicken-pox thing. You know. The doctors say if you have chicken pox--as I've been told it's called when you have little spots all over, but I thought it was shingles--you can't ever get it again. Maybe there's somethin' we've had before that made us that way? The flu, or somethin' like that. I've had an awful head cold for months.

[Actually, it's a traumatic brain injury, but he's not a doctor.]

We'll see if it's really over, though.

Maybe it is. I mean, as far as I can tell, basically anything is possible here. If something like rendering a number of us robotic and blank can happen, then so can what you just said.

[ Or maybe they're all missing the mark by a lot, but how are any of them supposed to know? ]

As for that, I'm willing to bet it isn't.

I honestly wonder how much of this is real, sometimes. Nothing feels very real--very permanent. One thing right after the other. You--you weren't here for the last bit of awfulness, but it was...weird. Weirder than usual.

[His voice bears unusual gravity.]

I reckon they could do whatever they want with us, and they just make us sick. I don't get it, James.

This could be one big collective hallucination, or a nightmare. Except how that would work logistically, I don't know. It's not as though we're all from the same place or the same time, even.

[ Wilson notices that, and it's a little startling. ]

I don't get it either, Magenta. And I don't even know what happened the last time.

[ All he knows is that it was very bad and that people are still trying to recover from it. ]

Where are you from, though? When you say different places and times. You sound American--you and House both--but I can't place the...shit, whatever it's--the accent. And I doubt we're from the same time. Timeline, either, I've been told--whatever the hell that means. Gives me a headache.

[A small, snorting laugh.]

Well, he does seem to do his best to make sure people have that opinion of him.

That's all right. I'm starting to get that no one wants to talk about it, and maybe I don't need to know any more than I already do.

I'm from New Jersey, so yes, I'm American. And it's 2012, at least for me. We probably aren't from the same timeline, and thinking about it definitely gives me a headache.
