You don't need to make up for being turned into someone else's tool, England. I explained it to Magenta that it's like getting angry at a hammer when it's the person who was holding it is the one at fault. Keeping away from the people you were made to hurt might be for the best for now. But time heals all wounds, and the best thing you can do for them is to get them out of here, right?

Well, one of them was the Joker, and I generally keep away from him anyway. [Is this the time for humour? Maybe not, but England thinks John will understand, given their similar coping methods and how much they both detest said clown.]

I only hope I can do something half as useful as what I did in there.

[John's lips twitch at the mention of the Joker. Maybe it's not the time for humor, but John's always had a very dark sense of it. He used to giggle at crime scenes, after all. He decides not to carry on the joke because as much as he might fantasize about doing horrible things to the Joker, being forced to actually do them would not sit well.]
