Probably. I'm Rhys. Ink Rhys, to keep things straight. I only got here...just before all this happened, but I was trying to do some damage control in there.

[He chuckles quietly and a little sadly. It would have been a good conversation anywhere but there.]

The original Rhys decided that it was fitting, because I've got a lot of tattoos. I'm good with it. Or else, I don't know. Magic Rhys? I do that, too.

Sorry. Been a long few days. No, I didn't keep any of my powers, but I can still do some stuff with herbs. Apothacary work, natural healing. So there's that, but it's mostly just I'm the witchy-looking guy.

Not many herbs to be found here, unfortunately. I've found teabags.

[Do those count as herbs???]

You'd be surprised what you can do with teabags, actually. Used teabags will soothe sunburns, razor burn, and boils, eye irritation, and draw out and dry up minor infections.

Helps roses grow, too.

We're not growing many roses, either.

... Didn't know about the rest, though. Mm.

[He'll definitely be saving his teabags from now on.]

Anything that you think might come in handy to anyone. Anything at all. Teabags aren't the only things with unexpected uses.

Pretty much anything I can pick up, yeah. Luckily, scavenging isn't a new game to me. Neither is improvising.

Getting a couple more bags to carry things wouldn't be a bad thing, but I think I'll get by. And if there's anything you wind up looking for, let me know and I'll keep my eyes open.

Yeah. Even better - I suggest you find an area of town that's low and supplies and make a cache there. Food, clothing, that sort of thing.

That's a good plan. I'm kind of thinking, since...well, I'm not much for getting into the middle of shit, I might be a good guy to stand back, act as ground base for everyone else with medical care, supplies, and whatever else might be needed. Base camp.

Now there's an idea. Not many people willing to do that. You know about what happens if you spend too long in a single building?

Yeah, but even if I'm the rear guard, I'll still have to keep moving anyway. Running supplies, making short trips to assist with things if someone's hurt and needs to be moved...even if there was one good place to plant my ass and set up a permanent shop, I wouldn't have that luxury, and that's not what I'm used to, anyway.

[He smiles a little.]

It's kinda what I'm used to. I lived out of the back of a van and did things on the road. So it'd be comfortable ground, if it was something that was needed.

Find a good building in a good location. Make sure you get out every few days, but base yourself there. That should work, mate, if you'll do it.

Running water is the important thing, and if not a stove, then a fireplace or some other way to make reliable heat.

...I think this is something I'd be comfortable doing, though. I mean, I'm not a doctor like the other guys, I can't really do major surgery, but on the other hand, I kinda got to wonder if they've ever had to set a broken arm in a junkyard garage, either.

[People with no health insurance and/or outstanding warrants do some crazy things. Rhys doesn't judge, he just quietly takes his under-the-table payments for a job well done.]

I haven't heard of any house with a fireplace. Running, hot water, though - yeah. Check house's map. He has them marked.

I might be optimistic there, but an outside firepit, even. That wouldn't be hard to do with all the rubble around here.
