[Then comes as discreet a check of his own body as Stephen can manage, both under and outside the gown. It takes just a few moments, and then he's breathing out a little sigh of relief and shaking his head.]
Nada. And whatever code they're using on this wristband doesn't mean anything to me, either.
[Speaking of which, he fiddles with it again, still unable to do much to it with his free hand. Bringing his wrist to his mouth and biting it is similarly unproductive.]

You know, I'm almost preferring the slow, hideous death via radiation poisoning to the nanomachines, at this point. At least the radiation poisoning doesn't keep jerking you around.

[Just saying. Stephen doesn't elaborate further, but he does worry at the bracelet with his teeth a little while more before further examination convinces him he's not achieved anything beyond getting saliva on his wrist.]
We haven't been altered, as far as I can tell. Not mentally -- it'd be easy enough to stop us from wanting to leave, given what else they can do.
