After a few minutes of haphazardly running into the bars, he decides that maybe he should stop: an unusual display of restraint. Only then does he really process that there's other people around.]
...Good news, fellas! You can't bust down those bars. Just thought I'd go ahead and let y'all know.
[And then:]
Ow.

Hey, if you didn't try, we wouldn't know. I was wondering if any of these were at enough of an angle to squeeze through. Guessing not, though.

The heat's nice for now, though, definitely.

[He sounds almost amused.]
And then we'll all wake up somewhere else, clean and cold. That seems to be the way things work 'round here. Hey, you have a bracelet too, yeah? With your name?
no subject
I guess it's only ominous because hospital gowns are mostly worn for surgery. Considering none of us need surgery, it doesn't seem like it's going a good place.
But yeah, I hope I get my stuff back after this, too.

...I mean, that's a stupid idea, but I do like it.

[Rhys casts a languid look over, to see who's causing the chaos.]
Any luck with the ceiling? Pretty sure the floor's concrete so that's out.
no subject
[There's vague sounds of shifting around, though he doesn't seem to be doing anything just yet.]
I don't think I've met you before, though. Are you one of those text-only folks?
no subject
Good thing it's warm in here. Could not fucking do this cold.
[He gives a long, languid stretch. Sorry for the peepshow, guys, but this is for everyone's good, right? Escape.]
Nah, not text-only, but I've been here for like, two days, and mostly just...trying to get my shit together. So, uh, nice to meet you.
no subject
[--Yep, sure a peepshow. He's not looking over there again. Probably.]
Well, it's sure nice to meet you, too! I'm Magenta. That's...my name, I mean. Also, this is a weird thing--bein' locked up, I mean. Hasn't happened in the couple months I've been kickin' around here.
no subject
[It's mild, though, and amused. Magenta reminds him a little of an old friend of his, and it's comforting.]
So this kind of thing has happened before? No one seems to think it's a good sign, but I haven't been here long enough.
[Okay, stretching done. He examines the bars for the sturdiest corner, then faces into the corner and starts pulling himself up the bars, bracing with his bare feet as he goes.
He wouldn't try this if it was more than a few feet, but it's a few feet, and he's limber as hell. It only takes him a couple of pulls to get himself close enough to the top to push on the ceiling tile, trying to force it up enough to crawl through.
...which doesn't happen.]
Well, fuck. Nope.
[He glances out, and makes a public service announcement to the rest of the captives:]
Ceiling's blocked, too. For what it's worth.
no subject
[He doesn't reckon anything of the sort, because he doesn't know what a heater is, but he accepts it all the same. Surely this newcomer knows more about the situation than Magenta does. Most people tend to know more about things in general than Magenta does.]
Nothin' like this has really happened before, as far as I know! Mostly it's just been...you know, hallucinations, and things like that. Fake things. Or real things, but those happen where you are, you know? I've never been brought anywhere and locked up. Feels like I'm getting arrested all over again.
[Magenta watches as best as he can with interest, occasionally glancing up at his own ceiling.]
Well, that was worth a shot! Guess we're really locked in here.
no subject
[It probably isn't. But he chuckles.]
Yeah. I think reality is pretty universal. Except when you come to a weird place like this and it's nothing like where you were. Then you have to wonder. But I'm starting to get rug burn on my ass, so that feels pretty real.
[He quirks his eyebrows over at his new companion. Hey, they have a few things in common, it seems!]
You get arrested a lot?
no subject
[He raps his knuckles against the bars, frowning.]
These also feel pretty real. I reckon if this were one'a those hallucinations, I could just walk right through 'em. Like a ghost. Not that I really believe in ghosts, but...fuck it, it might as well be possible here, right? I've not been in a doubtin' mood lately. You see a lot of weird shit here.
[He delicately clears his throat at the following question, looking everywhere except in the vague direction of his new acquaintance.]
I mean...as a kid, yeah. Haven't gotten in any real trouble for 'round...ten years? Maybe that's generous. Let's go for seven. I did work for the government; I don't tangle with the law as much as I used to.
