[ Is that Davesprite across the way? Harder to tell without that distinct orange. Sylar waves. ]

I'd be more help if I could be over there, but sure. What else do we have to do right now?

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-17 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Davesprite turns, hands still holding firmly to the bars, to look better off his way. He releases his grasp with one to return the wave.]

'Sup, Gabriel? If I have to give this place points, at least I've got warm air and carpet to scoot around on. Thought I was going to be doing hard mode straight out the gate and into the snow. Not looking forward to damp knees, you know? And there I had pants and everything, but I guess our benevolent overlords saw fit to grace y'all with the sight of my pasty gams.

Yep, we're the lucky ones, all right.

[ He chuckles. Yeah, this is probably going to be pretty bad. He's going to meditate in between talking to people- he's fairly sure he's going to need that calm later. ]

But yeah, if we're going to be stripped, at least we're not dying of hypothermia. So your leg problem- that's just a haven't used them in awhile issue, right?
mrcreamsicles: (069)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-17 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Davesprite flinches.]

Too soon, dude. Hypothermia got me last night.

[His voice is tight but even.]

But yeah, more or less. Didn't have them. The muscles are fine, no atrophy, no issue making them move when I want them to; I just lost that thing called balance y'all have to rely on.

[Or let it fall out of use, more like. Being a sprite made it a moot skill.]

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-17 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Oh- right. Awkward. Sylar shrugs (in apology?), but he sure isn't going to pursue that. ]

Your brain didn't need it, so it threw the whole thing out. I get it.

[ Let's see- what do you do for balance...? ]

Okay, so this isn't going to work very well in a small cell, but keeping a single focal point should help some. Just stare at the same thing and you'll keep a good reference point. Make sure your legs are wide enough to help keep your center of gravity stable, too. At least shoulder width apart.

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-17 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
[Now that's something he can use. He lets out a breath of relief. Other people last night suggested things like leaning on supports—furniture, canes—but beyond the bars, he doesn't have a lot of that here.]

Thanks. I'll try it. Figure the better I get the hang of this again, the better, you know? I don't want to be tripping every three steps whenever the warden comes along to march us out.
termineur: (Sure)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-17 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm gonna guess we're not going anywhere until this is all over. And that's the only silver lining about this place- we tend to be put right back where we were pulled from and given all our stuff back.

[ So eventually this will be over. Probably. ]

But hey- might as well get the practice in. Get it working right again before you get your orange-bird-ness back.
mrcreamsicles: (119)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Get it working right again before you get your orange-bird-ness back sounds pointedly pessimistic. Of course he's already wondering how long this loss is going to last. They always seem to linger past their welcome, but does it mean anything when he's this conflicted about it on the inside?]

[But Sylar doesn't need to know any of that.]

They gathered us here for some reason. Prisoners, right? And just from what I can see and hear, I don't think all of us are here, unless there's extra cells on another floor of this place. Maybe they're outside, maybe they've got different roles, maybe we're being imprisoned for different things. Even when we were in those white rooms alone with just our tablets, they opened up and let us into the maze eventually. But considering this place, I can't leave cruel and unusual punishment off the table.

[He's got no damn idea what's coming, and the dread of guessing weighs heavily. It puts an extra piece of determination in his desire to walk.]

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-18 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this feels more targeted. I mean, this is probably the industrial area and all, but we know there's at least one Prophet-related crazy out there. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't like most of us.

So yeah, probably gonna suck more than usual.

[ He sighs. Davesprite shouldn't have to be here. ]

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-18 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmmm.]

"He"? Are you thinking someone specific, or like, whatever put the prophet symbols on our tablets when Winter showed up last?

[A beat, then:]

Shit, that reminds me of that message. Something about observation and results, from a glitchy username? Did you get that one, too?
termineur: (Talk)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-18 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure did. 'Observation of residents complete. Please await results.' Maybe these are the results. I'd sort of guessed when I saw the message that I wouldn't like them.

And I'm thinking of a more general 'he,' although what I've heard of Robert Miller- he sounds kind of suspicious. But really, whoever put the prophet symbols up, cut off contact with the Admin and Winter, that sort of thing.

[ He'd mention House thinking it was a rogue AI, but after what he just heard between House and Davesprite? Yeah, let's not talk about House for awhile here. ]
mrcreamsicles: (032)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-19 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
Fffuck.

[It slips out like a sigh. Results.]

Do I even want to know what kind of crimes I've been convicted of? I mean, shit, I've pretty obviously been on the side of our robo-friends since this prophet stuff first started. Crossed out the symbols that second time with the static, been trying to help Winter, getting help from Andromeda...

I dunno about Miller. I know he doesn't like Winter, but she was mentioning someone with some kind of business-type connection to the network before shit went haywire.

[Not directly to him, but he followed what he could of what others were talking about before her post disappeared entirely.]
termineur: (Vulnerable-ish)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-19 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
She did?

[ He perks up some, hearing that. ]

I didn't catch much of it before it got deleted. But I thought the network was entirely government run? Did she think the business connection might have to do with the Prophet?
mrcreamsicles: (030)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-19 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know. If she said anything like it, I didn't get to see it before the post was gone.
termineur: (Crossed arms)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-19 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. [ Sigh. ] Well, you saw more than me. I didn't figure that we'd have to take screencaps of everything. I wonder what Winter got into that the follower didn't like?
mrcreamsicles: (012)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-19 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Noticing they were there, maybe?

[He shrugs, and the movement wobbles his sense of balance enough that he has to clench his hands on the bars and pull himself to them to keep from falling over. He hisses a swear, soft but frustrated.]

She's still an AI. Even if she's just the backup of the original, we know the cult hates them. They killed the original. I mean, shit, even without that, Winter's interfered with stuff before. She's helped us against the Admin. Whoever it is probably didn't want that working against them if they could prevent it.
termineur: (Orly?)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-19 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
She did get the power going, too, enough to find the card for the power plant.

I'd ask why now, since she's pretty much everything the cult hates. But maybe she hadn't messed with the network enough until then. It did turn off for a bit right before, right? So who knows.

[ He hates that non-answer, but it's what they've got for most of Norfinbury.
mrcreamsicles: (133)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-20 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they were still figuring out how to before this. I doubt it's easy to interfere with things like this. Or maybe they were waiting until they could pull the rest of this off, too?
termineur: (Brand New Day)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-20 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
What, the kidnapping us and- whatever's coming next?

[ He hums and nods. ]

Probably going to be something pretty big, in that case.
mrcreamsicles: (069)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-21 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
["Whatever's coming next" can't be anything good, if it really does relate back to the cult, and that thought pulls down his demeanor.]

I don't want to think about it before it happens.
termineur: (Crossed arms)

[personal profile] termineur 2017-07-21 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah.

[ It's not the most fun topic ever. ]

I just keep coming back to it, you know?
mrcreamsicles: (073)

[personal profile] mrcreamsicles 2017-07-21 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well.

[He also doesn't want to talk about it more than necessary.]

I should get back to walking practice.
