[It was one thing to hear about his injuries over text. It was another to see them. But he looks clean and so do his bandages so the moment of alarm passes and Enoch bends down instead to pull the poor boy into a tight hug.]

[Kid hears the shouting, and turns abruptly to the voice. Unlike the last time they'd spoken, Kid does have both of his eyes. He's just as ill as he'd been before and being stripped to just his slacks and button down highlight how emaciated he is, but he doesn't seem too bothered by it.

What he is bothered by, however...]

I should hardly think in these circumstances there is anything nice about meeting anyone at all. At the very least we're all probably going to die.

Do we have a list of names yet? Maybe there's-- a pattern or whatever, who knows. There's gotta be some sense to this, right?

I didn't do anything. I've always been like this. So what changed? Is it because you were dying? Is it because it got more personal this time with the troll? You didn't seem to mind as much when I was poking you about the dog girl.

Is it because I'm not groveling on my knees, begging for forgiveness? The tablet thing worked. It accomplished a goal. We got amazing results. I feel like crap that people died. There's exactly nothing I can do about it now and all of them are alive again. So, I don't plan on curling up in a ball or crawling to them and telling them how really, truly sorry I am. Like anyone even wants to hear that.

[Stephen's back on the floor, shoving on weld points. He shoots Mycroft an impatient look.]

I think a cage an an -- a person thinks they can't get out of is as good as one that'll actually hold them.

[Davesprite outright leaves the side of the cell he was at to stumble across the gap to the side adjacent to House's cell. His voice drops to a quiet hiss.]

You dug up personal, private shit about him, and even if people aren't going to care, it's still something he's kept on the downlow for a reason. Even if you do keep quiet about it, you still took advantage of Strange's loss to do something that would hurt somebody else in the process who never even hurt you. That's fucking low.

And it's not just you getting people killed; it's that you wanted to use me for yet another experiment when I was dying. That you couldn't even think about how freaked out I was to stop and leave off and consider anything else you could have said. That you didn't apologize for anything until I called you on the experiment thing. You spread my personal issues around too, House. I know you had a loss making it all worse, but it was still your brain and your fingers doing it. Would it really, honestly kill you think about how that hurts people and fucks up their trust and why they might want some kind of acknowledgement about that? And I'm not talking a pat, sarcastic gesture, I mean actual, honest self-reflection.

I mean, fuck, dude, I kept defending my friendship with you until then, and now you act like I'm the one being unreasonable.

[ Again, he leans out of his cell as far as he can and cranes his neck to look up and down the hall. ]

House, Royce, Gabriel, Mycroft Holmes, Another Rhys, [ Castiel here makes a series of otherwordly noises ], Davesprite, and Stephen Strange. There are some others here I don't know. At least three of them, I think, but it's hard to tell from here.

[Quark doesn't even have to think about it--he hugs Enoch back automatically. He doesn't want to let go. It's an embrace that makes him feel so warm.]

I'm really happy to see you again. I've been so worried about you.

[Because he's the one in the position to worry, obviously.]

I don't know about ominous. I'm honestly more worried about where my actual clothes have run off to, because I was sort of growin' fond of them. I hope I get them back, when whatever this is gets done--assumin' it does! Maybe we'll all just starve here.

[He sounds almost amused.]

And then we'll all wake up somewhere else, clean and cold. That seems to be the way things work 'round here. Hey, you have a bracelet too, yeah? With your name?

[Stephen gives a little shake of his head. His tone is gentle and reasonable when he replies, one of those rare moments when he can summon up a serious attempt to talk another person through something difficult.]

You don't have to forgive him. Sometimes if someone's driving you away, it's kind of alright to just get out instead of going on taking it. I don't think you really need me to tell you that, though.

Stephen seems him looking and puts a scarred hand out between the bars to give him a little wave and help him out. He doesn't get up, though.

"I'm Doctor Stephen Strange," he says, still looking at what of Rhys's skin he can see. "We talked a couple days ago."
