Player Event: Hackerquest v2.0
Characters: Anyone involved in the tablet plot. Even if you didn't sign up, you can still throw your character in!
Location: Throughout Norfinbury
Date: Night 254
Summary: A mass tablet destruction event and an attempt to hack the @ADMIN and @robertmiller accounts to get through to them after the block from Noisy White.
Warnings: Possibly incisions/surgery and mindfuckery if this is anything like the last time people tried to swallow chips from their tablets and hack the network.
[Lockdown provides an extremely convenient 'go' time for this particular event. House has contacted people through the Shadownet who could be contacted there (for some semblance of a potential surprise to whatever is watching the main network), but he's also contacted some through regular means. However they were notified, it's time. Line up your tablets with the door as lockdown ticks closer and wait for the doors to swing shut and smash the tablets.
Good luck, Snowhellions.]

I'll wait.
[His tail curls tighter to himself. If they aren't okay, he can't deal with waiting for a message that won't come.]
I can ask tomorrow if somebody else hasn't done something by then. I want to see if those chips do disappear overnight.
no subject
Should we set up the tablet to record that too? We might end up paralyzed again whenever it happens.
no subject
I do not foresee that causing us any immediate harm.
[ That's his very anxious way of giving permission. ]
no subject
Are you okay with that?
[It felt important earlier, during the main thing, but he doesn't want to leave Karkat wrestling with additional paranoia on top of what the situation already grants.]
no subject
It'd be pointed away from us, right? And it's—it's important to record whatever the fuck happens, especially if the nanomachines knock us out instead.
[He may not sound happy about it, but he's fairly determined. Seriously, though, there's no way in fuck he's pointing any cameras at himself right now.]

There may be more to be gained from this venture.
no subject
Okay. Go ahead and prop it where you want. We'll be alright.
[Saying that is not solely for Karkat's reassurance. He wants to hope they will be.]

Be right back.
[He gives the Cat one last scritch behind the ears, then rises to retrieve his tablet and it set it up by the fragments. He's careful not to draw too near (thank god for zoom, that's all he's saying) and more careful still to be out of the goddamn frame when he begins recording, but once that's finishes, he's heading back to the others, his nerves lightly jangling. He may be walking a little faster than strictly necessary, but shut up, he has his reasons.]
[Once he's back, he doesn't sit so much as slowly collapse in his former spot, a sigh escaping his lips.]
Okay, no more of that. I'm fucking done.

That's all we need. Grab it in the morning, and if anything weird is on there we can tell people.
We should probably eat something now that this is over.
[With the experiment to run, it seemed better to wait until after than risk missing the moment of lockdown. It's something normal to focus on, if nothing else.]
no subject
Yeah. We'll just let it record and see what happens.
[And probably keep their voices down, considering what it might record otherwise, but he doesn't point this out as he makes a grab for his backpack and begins digging through it. Food, then... perhaps not sleep but a night of vigil. They'll be exhausted in the morning, but whatever the find out, if anything, should be worth it.]

[ The Cat goes digging through his own bag, producing from it as usual a mysteriously unwrapped ration serving. He will be sleeping tonight, and only mania can stop him. ]
I think we can wrap up around here, probably? (cw: mild food insecurity issues)
[For now, he digs something out of his backpack—they'll need to restock food soon, and he's been nervous of eating too much because of it—and starts to nibble at it. Despite himself, it's hard not to keep at least one eye on the door.]
