[Here's a summary of the last ten or so hours of Jay's life: he woke up locked inside a spooky cold morgue in the middle of the night, suffering from a terrible headache and sensitivity to light that made him want to curl up in the shadows. Then, just as he finally managed to fall asleep, he woke up to a mystery injection with no warning. Then, upon inspecting the tablet he found on him, he discovered he'd recently posted a video on the local network despite having no memory of doing so. A video that made it look a lot like he'd died.

Actually, he seems to be missing at least several weeks' worth of memories. Again.

And just to top everything off, he has no tapes for his camera.

Everything really sucks.

He hadn't planned on making any more posts until he had a better grasp on the situation, but after a skim of earlier posts he feels the need to ask a question.]

Apparently a couple of people here have lost their memories and then gotten them back. Is that a common thing? If there's anyone else who's experienced something like that, please tell me. Thank you.

[More sighs of relief. A place he knows about, even! Tim has done good work here. Clayton can probably just leave him to it and check in until he gets his memory back.]

That's a good plan. Lots of food there, if you aren't too picky. It should be a straight shot, but it's a long way, so don't get discouraged and change track early. Keep in touch if you run into any problems.

Jay, can you do me a quick favor and check the obituaries on your tablet? When's the last one that was posted?

[Jay was in the process of drafting a reply questioning if Clayton was talking about cat food and why he would ever be desperate enough to eat that, but scraps that when the second reply appears.]

Looks like it was 6 days ago. Why are you asking?

[Oh good, so it's not just his own tablet/account that's been delayed on that.]

They're supposed to come out every two days. [Which Clayton had been hoping meant that there weren't any deaths to report--or that the supposed deaths weren't actually deaths at all. Which is still possible, perhaps...] Can you describe to me exactly where you woke up and how? Where in the chapel?

There's a morgue in the chapel basement. I woke up in there.

[Inside a body bag. It was not the most pleasant wake-up he's ever had.]

[This is what he was afraid of. So that's a confirmed death...and now the network isn't updating them about it. There could be so many more that nobody knows about, just...slipping away in the snow, missing and forgotten.]

[There is a very long delay between responses.]

I know this is a weird and unpleasant thing to think about, but do you have a rough number of how many other bodies were in the morgue?

No idea. The other lockers were all closed and I didn't stick around to look for bodies.

[Sorry, Jay. At least Clayton has the presence of mind to realize that giving the motivations behind it won't make things any better. Or, at least he assumes they won't. They certainly don't make him feel too peachy about all of this.]
