[network] @Chillinski; day 19; things. [open]
[At first, there is nothing but the sound of something metallic hitting against a wooden table, but then the video focuses on Stiles' face rather than the metallic bottle he managed to knock over (next to a small bottle of aspirin) -- he squints at the tablet, like the light filling the room is hurting his eyes, but eventually he clears his throat like preparing for A Speech.
Well. Something like that, at least.]
Okay, so, things! Thing number one: how stupidly optimistic would it be to think that "correcting for errors" means, you know, those weird creature things nobody actually wants to see again, like, ever? Also, speaking of... did anyone else see them surrounding a house you weren't it, even though the house you were in would have been closer? I mean, not that I'm complaining, it's just... it doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't they go for the closest one with people inside?
[For a moment, it looks like he could say something more about this, it's been something he's been thinking about for the past days -- but then he sighs and moves on, waving his hand at the tablet.]
Anyway, thing number two: has anyone come across a hospital, pharmacy, anything at all that would have medicine or other emergency supplies? Because right now, if one of us gets sick, can't get medicine, runs into someone else, infects them... it's definitely not a good thing. As in, accidental plague levels of not a good thing. [Not that anyone would catch a plague here, probably (you never know!), but even just several people down with the flu at the same time could be bad enough.]
And that brings me to thing number three! [He digs to his backpack, not visible in the view of the recording, pulling out a small bottle that seems to be some kind of medicine.] Is anybody missing seizure meds? Because I found this in one of the houses, and it's either been left behind by one of us or those who lived there, and in case it's one of us, uh, I'm pretty sure seizure meds aren't something you're supposed to leave behind. So. Anyone?
[With a grimace, Stiles cuts the feed -- that's enough socializing for today, and his head is killing him.]

{ video | @Lavellan }
They seem like they're determined to have a certain thing, as opposed to attacking anyone just in general. They haven't taken notice of me or the person I'm with.
video;
Hey, good for you. Have you, you know, tried to stay unnoticed or have you been moving from house to house?

I need those pills
not rn, but they're the ones I take
DON'T LOSE THEM
[ If he'd slept at all last night, or if he didn't have the world's worst headache, he'd private this. But right now he just doesn't have the energy to fuss over the fact that people might know he's on meds. Especially since as far as anyone knows, they're just for seizures. ]
text;
Yeah no problem I was not gonna, I don't know, leave them behind in some random house. [If you need them why did you let them go, Tim, why??]

I have seizures
bad ones
regularly, if I'm not medicated
I ran out of meds yesterday
Clayton got me more but it's not like they're in ready supply here so I figure grabbing any that anyone DOES find is probably a good idea. jfc

[The long winded princess is unusually terse as she responds to Stiles' post. Her voice is quiet and hoarse - almost gravelly - as well; it must be painful to talk. But looking into the tablet's light in order to text sounds like the opposite of what she wants right now, so voice it is.]
They were after those who turned on the beacon. Seems as though they have pulled back for now, though.
[She's absolutely not speaking from experience, what are you talking about.]
voice;
(The hoarseness in her voice, however, is enough to make Stiles both curious and concerned, but they cancel each other out (curiosity: wanting to ask what is going on with her; concern: not prying into whatever is going on with her) and so he says nothing on the front.)]
Wait, so, if you turned on the beacon on the tablet, that's what's making them home in on you? [A pause, then, with feeling:] I knew it was nothing good, I knew it, it was way too suspicious, oh my god, I've never been so glad to have trust issues.
[But right, back to business.] And you know this because...? I mean, not that I'm doubting or anything, but inquiring minds want to confirm.
no subject
I turned it on.
[Short and to the point - again, something a bit odd coming from her, but she's had a rough few days, if her theory is right.]
When given the choice, the creatures came after me instead of my companions who did not turn on theirs.

[Not that he's complaining it isn't going after him or Ellana but still.]
video;
[In short, he completely agrees. But to add, now that he has something to go with:] Also, to test a theory... did you turn on the beacon on your tablet or not?
[Sorry Zelda, he has trust issues, that means not taking anyone's word without trying to confirm it from outside sources.]

( they're super creepy pills he found in a watertight box in a flooded basement, y'all, don't take Captain Hook's crazy pills please. )
The ... morgue didn't seem to have much in the way of that sort of provisions, but why bother, I suppose.
( since, you know, dead people are supposed to go there. instead of middling people that wake up after a bit. Hook hadn't searched exponentially hard, but he's ... decently sure. )
video;
It's a pirate thing, isn't it.]Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and say don't touch those pills. Or let anyone else touch them. Why do you even have unknown mystery pills? I mean, I have pills too, the seizure meds and a bottle of aspirin, but at least I know what those are.
[The words about the morgue make him shrug in a particular yeah-wow-I-wonder-why way.] Yeah, if they're not resurrecting people by medical means, then there's not much point in having stuff around there. Even less point if people weren't originally supposed to be waking up from the morgue in the first place.

I dove into a flooded bloody cellar for them, I'm not giving them up just yet. They might be good for something.
( like accidentally killing himself, but to be fair, Hook isn't going to be taking them any time soon. he just doesn't see the need to leave them behind for no reason at all. )
Looks a bit like a hospital. ( he's been to exactly one now, so he's clearly an expert. ) True the purpose is a bit opposite to healing, though.

Wouldn't it be weird though? Calling those things "errors". [ See, this is the art of being brief, Stiles. You have a lot to learn, young pandawan.
(The fruit loops were pretty good though, thanks.) ]
voice;
Okay, so maybe he could have picked a better moment to address the network at large, but the aspirin isn't helping, the admin's notice threw him off and at least talking to people is a suitable distraction from the hammering pain inside his head.]
Dude, what here isn't weird? The admin lets people freeze to death, makes obituaries claiming to mourn the dead and brings some of them back and leaves others dead. How is calling Shadow Monsters of Death and Twitchiness "errors" any weirder? I mean, what if they were errors? What if they weren't supposed to exist, maybe it's a magic glitch or like a glitch in a virtual reality, or if the beacon theory is right, what if it's a side-effect?
[Right, he's getting ahead of himself here, but he has theories and he's never been able to leave something like this unsolved. Or without an attempt to solve it, at the very least.
(You're welcome, by the way.)]
no subject
It's weird since it would make this all sound like some sort of virtual reality. Usually they wouldn't use that kind of specific wording otherwise. Have you ever heard someone in some story about magic talk about strange monsters as "errors"? [ Or maybe the admins in charge are just weird.
That wouldn't be a farfetched conclusion either, huh. ]
It'd explain a lot about this place though if it was like that.

I found a first aid kit while searching through one of the houses, but haven't come across anything quite as useful as a hospital.
text;
A first aid kit is already 110% better than anything I've come across, so congrats. And neither has anyone else, apparently, I'm like halfway convinced there's not an actual hospital in this place at all
@Quark | video;
[Good for splinters! Medical! It counts!]
And a bottle of lotion.
[Good for...cracked hands. Sort of counts? Quark frowns, looking at the bottle as if it's thoroughly disappointed in it before stashing it back in his pocket. He seems to be in some small enclosed space, like a closet or a cabinet, so the light from the tablet is the only thing illuminating his face. Just like everyone else, he looks like he's battling an annoyingly persistent headache. ]
Also, I don't think it's stupidly optimistic to think that. I mean...those things weren't here before, were they? So if they appeared out of nowhere and now someone's saying there's an error, doesn't it just make sense that those things are the error it means? Maybe they'll be gone soon! Like...tomorrow!
[Okay, that's stupidly optimistic.]
no subject
Okay, well, I mean, those are-- uh, something? Good! Good, they're good. Tweezers and lotion, you never know when you're gonna need those. [Wow, that even almost sounded reassuring.]
Yeah, technically, they could be gone tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure they won't be. I mean, we don't even know what that error is, it could be them going after the ones who turned on the beacon instead of the things themselves. Or it could be something totally different that doesn't have to do with the shadows creatures at all. I mean, I'm still hoping it's them and they're gonna, I don't know, stop appearing so often or stop going after people or something, but to expect them to be entirely gone? Not sold on that.
voice only @LELRIC
Are you sure there's nobody in that other house? Maybe there are others inside there, and so they're closer than you?
voice;
I'm starting to think that's exactly it. I mean, there were people inside, that's why I went closer, to draw in the things so the ones trapped there could get the hell away from there. But that's the point, they only went after me when I was close enough, even though I'd seen them go past the house I was in before!
no subject
[Al still hasn't equated the monsters with the beacon yet, especially since he doesn't realise most of his stupid group turned it on.]
Do you know if there's more than one person in there? Maybe that could be why the things are drawn there instead of to you?
