[ Steph still has a bandage over one cheek, taped in place with packing tape. But at least the injury underneath it isn't as disturbing anymore, just an unpleasant growing scab. ]

Alright kids, it's that time again. Let's talk about what we all saw when things went crazy two days ago.

I hope you've all got at the very least some pain killers by now, but if you're still waiting for medical help? Please take care of yourself and don't strain yourself trying to answer this.

Now we all know that eyes are a theme. What I want to know is what sort of things we saw besides eyes.

For us there was a glowing like fire, or like Andromeda's eyes, I guess. Ice fell from the top of the tunnels. [ That was... upsetting, considering the way Kes and Zach each died last. Steph shudders. ] And, uh... god, there's not a way to put this that isn't creepy as hell, we got... licked.

So there was that. What else do you guys have for me?

Did the same thing happen to Zach?

Yeah. [ She grimaces. ] On his neck. Which is way creepier, if you ask me.

Did you get him patched up too?

[Both the face and neck sound equally creepy to him, to be honest.]

[ But the neck is so intimate... or maybe it's just that hers is extra sensitive. Either way. Ugh. ]

Yeah. I've been saving my medical supplies for something like this, so I was totally prepared.

Okay good. I mean... not good that it happened, but good that you were prepared and managed to get yourselves sorted out.

[That's better than most.]

I think Mr. Gray is going to need a proper doctor, though.

Definitely. Hell, he probably needs surgery.

[armoured]

I don't think surgery is possible in a place like this, Steph.

[He can't hide the cracked worry in his voice.]

I know. [ And that sucks. ] So you have to be extra careful. It might not heal properly,

[That's what he's been worried about.]

I've been trying to help him rest it by carrying him, do you know what else I could do?

Just make sure he rests it a lot, and be careful of additional impacts. It could re-break pretty easily.

I don't think it's the bone that's the issue, it's the hole.

[spoileralert]

That's the problem, though. If he's missing a whole chunk of muscle and probably tendon, the bone won't have the cushion or support it needs.

I don't know what I can do about that!

You could build his leg a cage like kids do for eggs for physics classes.

You really think that might help? I've already tried to splint it as best I can.

No clue. But it would be an interesting project.
