[network/video] @309_W1C_2DZ; Day 205; Midday [open] cw: mention of suicide

[For once Sherlock is not on text only, he's on video in all his glory. Which is a very diminished glory today, considering he looks terrible. Too thin in the face, though his clothes hide the rest of him, and dishevelled as though he's spent a few months not really putting any care into his appearance. His hair is longer than the last time anyone has seen him, and he looks older.

He's moving frantically in short bursts of energy, jittery, as if he isn't quite sure whether he wants to stay still or keep moving.]

Data, yes, I should share that. [It's a mumble to himself as the tablet tilts, giving an askew feed of the detective.] Purposeful death does cause nearly guaranteed revival, this has now been tested several times with no known cases of permanent death.

[The tablet shifts again as Sherlock moves between morgue drawers, checking them one by one and then moving on.]

John. [It's a sudden shift in direction.] John Watson, has anyone seen him?

Thus far they've all revived but this may not always be the case.

[Stephen notes the differences, though he hasn't seen that much of Sherlock, and not since the white space. He takes a moment to steady his voice before he replies.]

Not yet.

[He's going to stick with yet.]

Do you know where you are, where the nearest shelter is?

So purposeful death has a 100% revival rate? Did you calculate a plus-minus for that, or is this a case of you testing it on yourself several times?

As for Dr. Watson, I assumed he would still be with you.

[ Well...damn. Sylar watches the feed closely, wanting to discern what Sherlock's death price is. This is unusual behavior for him, but he's never had to be here without John before.

Sylar himself looks more gaunt and pale, the latter the result of recently jostling his bad leg. The Vicodin he has unfortunately only helps so much, especially since he's trying to be careful with the dosage. ]

I haven't seen him, no. What happened?

It leads to misconceptions, falsehoods, and the perceived slights.

Your frantic distraction is answer enough to the depth of your concern. I shall let you get back to searching among the dead.

[Long suffering sigh.]

I refer to the future...

What I mean is that this is not an area worth any further scrutiny. It may not even be wise to think much of it.

There was a time we were nearly guaranteed to be healed of our injuries but we hurt ourselves and each other so often that the Administrator eventually did away with this system are we now left to heal on our own or suffer broken limbs until death.

My point is that if we test the revival system we may lose it.

No doubt. Did he kill himself too then?

cw: suicide

[ Sylar raises an eyebrow. ]

Yeah, I figured. But why? Trying to get into the morgue lockers again?

tried to message him
no answer yet
you want to tell me what the point of this is
because to me it sounds an awful lot like encouraging people to off themselves until it sticks

[It's an uncharitable reading, but with Watson still dead and Natasha dead too—after all the deaths that keep fucking rolling in lately—charitable is not on the list of things he's inclined to feel. Especially not for Sherlock Holmes.]

Don't... You mean suicide. Not purposeful death. Don't try and sanitise it.

Was he with you? Did he agree to this?

[ Does it count as purposeful if you die trying to keep someone from committing suicide? What if this insane experiment just cost John his life permanently? ]

And he clearly didn't based on the responses and his lack of replies and scolding for your antics.

Best to revise the plus-minus.

No, I suppose it's not all that important as long as you're willing to die again today.
