Hi, everyone. If you don't know me, my name is Clarke. I'd appreciate you introducing yourself if we haven't met - I'm trying to keep tabs on everyone and make sure they stay safe.
For those of you who have been here awhile, you know that we've been talking a lot about grouping up and establishing a base camp. And you also know that we haven't done that yet. I've made a map of everywhere I've been so far, and I think I've found a good place for us to converge on.The square labeled 20 is the convenience store - there's food there. I've been told the eastern convenience store is more reliable.
I suggest we make our way there and establish a place for us to come back to, that everyone knows the location of. I haven't been everywhere, but hopefully you've been to at least some of the places I've been. If not, feel free to ask if someone else has, and maybe they can help you with directions.
Finally, one more order of business. I know most of us know each other, but I think it would be helpful to keep a list of people with abilities that may be of use. If you're trained in some sort of fighting or you know about medicine, people might need you. If you have any skills you think might be of use, please let me know and I'll start compiling a list of who to contact in case of emergency.
If you have any other suggestions, let me know. We need to be as organized as possible. We can't keep wandering around forever.
EDIT: I've been told there's two convenience stores, one to the west (on my map) and the other to the east. I'm guessing it's actually the easternmost store that gets restocked. You may be able to find food in the one I mentioned, but if it isn't going to get restocked, it's going to be mostly empty.
EDIT 2: I've updated the map with everything you've all told me. I also broke it up into quadrants.

only added important or distinctive stuff. and the placement might be kinda off
I'm not the greatest at this kind of thing so
also are you seriously telling me I travelled all the way back to the goddamn school for food when another source was right back there where I started
back up near the park I mean
jfc I hate this place
no subject
I think I am telling you that. Sorry. Things like that are why we need maps. Besides, it might be better to stay away from the school. Last time I went there, it was... strange.

The convenience store's name is misleading. It doesn't seem very convenient if it's up in one corner.

Haha. You're right there. That's just supposed to be what they're called, apparently.

Been there before. Wasn't any food inside. Just the dispenser for tablet cards. A few useless items. No food. [Unless you like cat food. But it still wasn't enough to stock up supplies for even a week's worth like one could do at the school's cafeteria.]

[ It's true that the store had been mostly empty, but— ]
Someone said they restock. I assumed that meant there would be more food later. When were you last there?

I've been making a map too, and I've been to the store you've labelled at '20'. It didn't have any food there when I passed through, but the other store I've marked further to the east always seems to be stocked.
no subject
Wait. There's two? I'd really thought I'd found it. At least someone knows where the other is, though; I think it might be wise to establish somewhere sort of in between the two stores, north of the school. Then whatever we need, it won't be too far. What do you think?

If it helps, I've been to the house you've labelled as "1." The second shop is a bit between that house and the easternmost park that's been indicated. Closer to 2, I think, but I can't verify that as I've never been inside of that house. My companion and I have been travelling along the north wall to mark significant locations and scale the distance to the best of our ability. I suspect we'll have it completed within the next few days.
Hopefully the information I've just provided is of use.
I have a few skills that may be marketable here, as well, if those are truly of interest.
no subject
When it's complete, I'd love to see it. I'm near the north wall myself. And yes, your skills are of interest! I'm trying to compile a list of people who may be able to help others if they need it. For example, sewing or knitting skills may become useful if we can locate enough supplies.

I think the school might be another place worth considering. it had plenty of food when I was there. we might be able to keep a few people in the shed, the school is too open to stay the night.
no subject
I agree about the school - I think somewhere between the store and the school could work. It'll take us all agreeing on a location, though, which might be difficult.

me and some others are south of that south wall now, in some caves. there's places to stay the night but we haven't found much inside yet.
when we come back out i'll try and reach the store
no subject
That's all right, just knowing is good enough; do you have any idea how long it goes? It's okay if you don't, I'm just wondering. And I suggest heading for the area somewhat center and north. The school and the stores are all in that general area, as far as I can tell. Hopefully, they won't be more than a few days' walk from each other.

Based on the maps that others have provided, I have surmised that I am to the east of most locations indicated. I will begin walking in the direction of the marked convenience store to the best of my ability.
Does anyone know if these supposedly empty houses contains furniture that has been burned entirely to a crisp? Because that's the place I woke up in.

I've done what I can to create some sort of standard of distance for us to use. Each full "square" is roughly a sixth of a mile, based on what I've been able to determine using houses for points of reference and/or by counting my steps.
We have both stayed in 2/H19, so that is where I was able to connect my map to yours. To an extent.
no subject
And wow, that map - thank you. Knowing the amount of distance will really help us. We've still got a lot of work ahead of us, but I think that'll make it much easier.
What do you mean by vet office?

My name's Clayton Epps. I'm an emergency physician at Granite City General Hospital in Illinois. I'm not sure how much the location matters in this place, but the important thing is that I'm a doctor. If anyone needs any patching up, I'll see what I can do.
I think I can add a few things to your map! Let me edit what I've already got and upload it in a second.

I don't know where to place the church area, except that it might be a bit northwest from the vet's office based on what I saw from Lea's map. The second map is of the southwestern corner, which is where I've been staying since I woke up in the funeral home. The building buried in the ice just west of the large Victorian house leads to the ice caves in map three, which I think are still being mapped since I left.

Thanks for the maps, too. So you were in the caves as well?

Hello, Clarke! I'm Freya Crescent. I’ve read about you.
[is that creepy? That sounds creepy in retrospect, but she powers through.]
Alphonse sent me the big map that Stephanie and others have been putting together. I woke up five days ago in a house near the North wall of ice, but nearby the other store, to the East of your map.
Here is a picture of a small map I drew. It isn’t to scale, but I hope it’s still useful. I've numbered the houses in the order I stopped at them.
[sure enough, there’s a link to a picture of a hand-drawn map under the message. The photo is tilted and poorly-lit, like the person who took it isn't used to using a camera.]
no subject
[ It doesn't strike her as creepy, but— unexpected? People all knew her at Camp Jaha, but there wasn't a soul she recognized when she arrived here. ]
You read good things, I hope? :) It's nice to meet you, Freya.
It's all right if it isn't to scale - I doubt mine is, either. As long as there's some sort of direction to follow. Can you remember anything about the houses you labeled? What they look like?
