[log] Event: Lavender's Green, Part Two [open]

Characters: everyone
Location: mysterious, white hallways
Date: Day 193-194
Summary: Find friends. Get lost. Don't look.
Warnings: Potential for gore and psychological horror. Please note any specific warnings in your subject lines!

While confusingly similar, the area is split into a few different sections:

The Core
The hallways here are narrow and twist at a rapid rate. With how dazzlingly white everything is, it's easy to not realize you're coming on a turn and slam right into the walls. There are no rooms here--no one starts here, though they may find it while they wander. At the center is a large, round area, like the center of a spiral. There's a lot of air pressure here.

The Inner Hallways
The largest area, filled with dead ends, gentle slopes and twists, and, occasionally, difficult-to-see drops where a higher hallway intersects with a lower one without a wall to separate them. The whole place tastes vaguely like blood. Most rooms are here--most people start here.

The Outer Hallways
The outer ring of the ball of yarn. It's not as thick with halls and twists as the other two areas, leading to a lot more boring walking in one direction. It's totally possible to circle around the same path multiple times without realizing it, as everything is so similar here. Occasionally, footsteps can be heard just outside the farthest walls. Sometimes, something breathes. There are a few rooms here--some people will start here.

Remember to note what kind of eyes your character has in their top level!

[Reaching up, he brushes some of his long bangs to the side. They won't stay put for long, but for the moment it reveals a portion of his usually hidden features. As Sherlock may have also expected, his face is that of a fairly young man in his early thirties or so. Hardly as old as he pretends to be.

His glowing eye is an unusual yellow-green, it's iris a dual layer instead of a human's singular band.]

A variation. I was surprised to learn how many of them there are spread between worlds.
howdull: (happy] plots)

[Now that is interesting. He commits it to memory in a single piercing glance, confident that he can dissect it at his leisure later.]

Even confined to one world, many countries have their own mythos surrounding the Reaper, it's hardly surprising that there would be variations in what actually exist.

That's true~ But they all come from the same source in mine. [His voice still has a reedy quality to it until he drops all inflection aside from his accent.]

Well, now that you've figured my identity out what will you do?
howdull: (deduce] talking)

[personal profile] howdull 2017-01-03 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Nothing.

[He looks almost surprised at the question.]

Why would I want to do anything with it? The puzzle is the thrill.
exequies: please ask before taking! (It really killed the mood)

I thought as much.

[He just wanted to make sure that Sherlock wasn't interested in blabbing about it. Not that he feared he would, and he was aware that anyone was capable of lying.]

I'd hate to have to quit our game so soon after you've matched the first pieces together.
howdull: (happy] amused)

[personal profile] howdull 2017-01-05 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[He frowns in mild confusion. Matched what pieces together? He thinks carefully, trying to piece together what clues he knows.]

You're not human!

[Said with the same air of realisation as the first time.]

[Undertaker's visible eye squints a bit. Unfortunately, he's standing far enough away that he misses the mild confusion on Sherlock's face, and is just left with that inflection in his voice.]

Yes, I know. We established that.
howdull: (confusion] bwuh?)

[personal profile] howdull 2017-01-08 10:55 am (UTC)(link)
We did? No-- No, I would remember that, I--

[He couldn't look more shocked if he tried. He might think Undertaker was having a joke at his expense, but he can read micro-expressions and that's not what's happening. He's telling the truth, or believes that he is.

Sherlock raises a hand to scrub over his face, and catches sight of bright red scratches on his palm. Ah. Memory issues... check his tablet. He does, hurriedly, but it isn't working. Something else he's forgotten. Too lost in his own sudden fear, he's no longer paying attention to Undertaker.]

[Undertaker watches him, stepping a bit closer with a cock of his head. The mood seems to change completely, as Sherlock goes from smug to unnerved in mere seconds.

He's used to seeing it, though not so typically without effort on his part.]

Oh dear, are you having some memory issues?

[He knows what that possibly means.]

Were you that desperate to get inside the morgue? How impulsive.
howdull: (deduce] deep thinker)

[personal profile] howdull 2017-01-11 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought there was no price.

[His voice is hushed and almost to himself, which it is because he's sort of forgotten Undertaker is even there in the middle of his distress.]

How can this be? My hypothesis was wrong?

[He continues to observe what he can, listening while Sherlock semi-retreats into himself.]

Surely you knew there would be. You're only human, after all.
howdull: (anger] genuine ire)

[personal profile] howdull 2017-01-17 09:43 am (UTC)(link)
[There's a lot to observe, because Sherlock doesn't hide it well when he gets truly frightened or upset. His hands are shaking, his face has gone pale, and his body language is twitchy and closed off.]

Shut up, I'm thinking.
