[log] Event: Lavender's Green, Part Two [open]
Characters: everyone
Location: mysterious, white hallways
Date: Day 193-194
Summary: Find friends. Get lost. Don't look.
Warnings: Potential for gore and psychological horror. Please note any specific warnings in your subject lines!
While confusingly similar, the area is split into a few different sections:
The Core
The hallways here are narrow and twist at a rapid rate. With how dazzlingly white everything is, it's easy to not realize you're coming on a turn and slam right into the walls. There are no rooms here--no one starts here, though they may find it while they wander. At the center is a large, round area, like the center of a spiral. There's a lot of air pressure here.
The Inner Hallways
The largest area, filled with dead ends, gentle slopes and twists, and, occasionally, difficult-to-see drops where a higher hallway intersects with a lower one without a wall to separate them. The whole place tastes vaguely like blood. Most rooms are here--most people start here.
The Outer Hallways
The outer ring of the ball of yarn. It's not as thick with halls and twists as the other two areas, leading to a lot more boring walking in one direction. It's totally possible to circle around the same path multiple times without realizing it, as everything is so similar here. Occasionally, footsteps can be heard just outside the farthest walls. Sometimes, something breathes. There are a few rooms here--some people will start here.
Remember to note what kind of eyes your character has in their top level!

He stumbles a step when he's kneed in the side, but he uses the stumble to try and hook under one of his opponent's legs to attempt to flip them up and over.]
no subject
Bucky?! It's-
[The doctor goes over, his head and shoulders striking the side of the corridor. And he swears loudly.]
no subject
John?!
[His eyes widen in surprise, and he's immediately stepping back and away.]
Shit-- shit, are you okay?
no subject
We really need to stop fighting, mate. Always ends terrible for the pair of us.
no subject
I didn't know it was you.
[He actually looks clean, compared to all the other times they've met, but his hand is an absolute mess of bruises and cuts.]
You hurt?
no subject
A bit. Came down wrong on my hand, but that's all. It'll be fine. England helped me with it. How are you doing? Meet up with anyone who gave you a bit more fight?
no subject
Let me see.
[He'll focus on helping John, it might stop him jumping at shadows.]
no subject
[There isn't actually much to be done in the absence of supplies. John holds his right hand out, though. His wrist is swollen, and it might be clear why he went for kicking rather than punching.]
no subject
You should have it in a sling. Stop it getting hurt any more.
no subject
no subject
[He peels off his scarf and begins to make it into a sling.]
There are a lot of people between here and there.
[Assuming he even remembers the way correctly, which is doubtful.]
no subject
What's in the core, then?
no subject
Not much. More walls, feels like the air pressure there is different.
[He shrugs.]
Have you seen Sherlock? [Since he imagines that's who John is primarily looking for. A beat, and then perhaps slightly guiltily.] Or Solomons?
no subject
I haven't seen either of them. Have you? Sherlock's got his memory thing, which really isn't helping. I'm afraid he's gonna find something important and then forget about it.
no subject
I've seen Solomons.
[Guilty look intensifies, but lets gloss over that.]
What memory thing?
no subject
He died in the morgue. Melted my tablet while I was watching. Now he can't remember anything past half a minute.
What happened with Alfie? Did you hurt him?
[Slamming people into walls and everything.]
no subject
Sorry. I hope you punched him for doing something so stupid.
[He knows how much Sherlock means to John, to watch him die in the morgue must have been horrible.]
I didn't hurt him. [He sighs, but he may have messed things up, so he'll come clean.] I talked to him about you, I don't think it helped.
no subject
[John's just adjusting how his arm sits in the sling, but stops and looks up at Bucky slowly. He looks surprised, but not displeased. He's more confused than anything. The doctor had vented to Bucky about Alfie, to be sure, but he hadn't expected the man to actually do anything.]
You didn't have to do that, Bucky. But you, uh... probably haven't made anything worse, really. I was stuck in a house with him and the others last night. The night before? Just before we got here. We haven't really talked about any of it. He... still cares, though. About me. Tried to cheer me up about Sherlock instead of yelling at me.
[So, there's that. It makes it even harder to let go if that's what Alfie wants to do, of course.]
no subject
He definitely made things worse.
John probably doesn't want to know what was said, it might upset him. So Bucky just awkwardly shrugs and takes a step back.]
Not my business, I shouldn't have interfered.
[If John wants to pursue a friendship with a man who thinks others should crumble to his version of morality, that's his business. He's an idiot, but it's his choice to make.]
no subject
No. I appreciate what you were trying to do, really. I just don't have many people step up for me. [Not so much outside of Sherlock.] I'm not really sure what to say.
[It's a moment before he steps forward and claps Bucky on the back with his good hand.]
Thank you. I didn't get to tell Alfie, but Duster... I told him I'm not bending on this. If that means it's the end for what we had before, that's all right. [John pulls a face because it's not really all right at all.] I'll still help him if he needs me, and I want all of us to get out. We'll just... walk our own paths, y'know?
no subject
There's a moment of awkward silence.]
Transfusion's worn off.
[That's enough of an explanation before he moves back to the important topic at hand.]
Good. That's what I told him, it takes more of a man to stand for what they believe in, than to crumble for another. If he won't respect that, you're doing the right thing by walking your own way.
no subject
[He frets, looking over his friend as he listens.]
Yeah, I'll... I dunno. I can bend most ways, but I'm not doing that. Ran into the Joker earlier. [John sighs.] He wouldn't fight me. Think he's figured out I've got that limit, too. I tried to stick with him, but this place... it's easy to get twisted 'round, lose someone you're with.
no subject
I know. I had Pierce.
[Obviously he doesn't any more.]
Had Sylar too, but I dealt with him.

[He raises an eyebrow, and shifts very slightly from foot to foot as if impatient but hiding it well.]
What did you think I meant?
