[It's almost midnight when House's message goes out. He sounds honestly terrified. His hands are shaking too much to type, and he's too frantic to think of voice-to-text. There's also the music. He can hear it. He can't tell where it's coming from, but it's there and it's fading in and out with the static and a whisper that he can just make out.

It would probably be better to see to his wounds first, but that's secondary at the moment.]

The music. Who's hearing the music and the static? Have anyone's eyes changed? Who can hear it?

[He sings the first few lines.]

Lavender's blue, dilly dilly, lavender's green...

It's Andromeda's song for Winter. It's the song in the apartment with the knives. The Jedi heard it, too. His eyes or his hand set it off.

Echoes. Warning. They won't do the same thing twice. They never do. Fear and sadness equal regret. Winter was talking about murdering people. Andromeda said she wanted to fix things. My guess? They killed a bunch of the Prophey eyes before getting pulled down. Part of the answer is in that apartment with the knives. We need someone to get there.

[ He can be observant! He just likes to pretend he isn't. ]

Tell me about the apartment with knives and what to do there. I think we're too far away to do any immediate good, but there's still people in the tunnels that can help.

I don't know what to do. It's two butcher knives dug into the wall about six feet up, five feet apart. They light up like the eye symbols when I use the Prophet Eye app. I've tried oil to loosen them. Blood as a "sacrifice." Eye symbols drawn around and between them. Tried prying up the wall around them.

No music the first time I was there. Music when I brought the Jedi - probably because of his eyes. Sounded like a record playing somewhere, but it wasn't coming from any one place. No static.

Did anything change when the Prophet eye guy tried those things? Do you think we need the knives for something? Maybe they're just reacting to the eye stuff because Andromeda and Winter used them on people in defense of the Prophet?

[ He's just throwing ideas out, at this point, whatever comes to mind. ] Maybe they're just echoes, too. Or maybe they're a key.

Nothing changed except the music playing.

And you think they were working in defense of the Prophet? [Because that's not what House was getting. Having to contradict Clint and mentally review the conversations they've heard is helpful in its own way.]

Oh, uh. I guess not? [ Clint has no idea. ] I guess against the Prophet. I don't know, they kind of just seem in it for the two of them by what I've seen.

Winter was in it for the two of them. Andromeda wanted to fix whatever got screwed up. Points even more to at least part of it being her fault if she was feeling responsible.

Yeah. So what do you think she did? [ He's going to keep asking questions at least until he thinks House has settled a bit more. ]

Tried to reprogram a bunch of people's nanobots and their personalities and memories by extension. Did you see the way Winter freaked the last time Romanov and I pressed her on that? If something in that process went wrong, maybe it ended up driving all of them crazy.

Jesus. [ Yeah, that's scary. ] The admin lady can do that too, if I'm not remembering wrong. Or at least, that's what I gathered from when everybody was freaking out about trying to contain the Joker.

She can do it. She's deleted our memories without permission... or the auto permission we apparently grant by being kidnapped citizens.

[ He scrubs at his face. ] Right.

Well - we're tied up. So you don't have to worry about me or Ecks coming for you if this goes south, at least.
