[network] @ADMIN; Obituary [DAY 188]
We mourn the loss of those who have died in the time between the last announcement and this one:
Franken Stein
Vaughn
Bruce Wayne
Franken Stein
Vaughn
Bruce Wayne

not here;
He can't die. What is she supposed to do if this place kills the goddamned Batman? ]
@zd; text
@Kid, text
and i have a very hard time reading the text

Oh! I'll switch to voice.
[ ...probably should have gone to voice at the get go. Whoops.
Swapping it to audio. ]
Hey, man.

[Kid exhales slowly, almost a sigh but not quite.]
This obituary does not list everyone who died. I only saw your text because I was trying to read closer.

What's wrong with your vision? [ And then something clicks in. ] Did- did you die too?
@Kid audio --> Video, Private
[Kid flips the video feed on, after some fumbling--and reveals why his vision is so poor. A single golden eye is staring at the tablet; where his other would be is covered in gauze. He's squinting just slightly, and rubs his left eye to clear the image.]
My vision is...relatively intact. My depth perception is not.
private; audio
Whoa!
[ Then he thinks about it and actually switches it over to private before continuing. ] What the hell happened?
[ :( :( :( Kid was in one piece the last time he's seen him. ]
no subject
He rests his head against his arms.]
It's all right now. Claire stitched up the wound, and put a clean dressing.
She is the one the obituary missed.
[Way to entirely skip his question, Kid. Want to guess why Kid doesn't seem so upset about that dead Professor, Zell?]
no subject
[ The nutty professor did do a lobotomy on his friend. ]
no subject
If Zell wants a real answer he'll have to find it elsewhere. The silence will have to do for now.]
Where are you, Zell?
no subject
The silence in response to his question is confirmation for him. ]
We're restocking at the store north east from the school.

[Kid looks up from his folded arms, rubbing his remaining eye.]
A house that's flooded on the first floor.

[ Which is the opposite way :( ]
(reaction)
Somehow, however, he knows.
He can feel in his soul that his dance partner is gone and he makes an inhuman shrieking sound as he starts marching harder into the drifting snows.
He'll destroy this place.
Any place that would give him Batman only to take him away does not deserve to exist.]
(not here)
Curled in the tiniest ball a 6'2" man can accomplish. ]
action!!
[ Meet Angel, the human blanket. She obviously isn't big enough to wrap herself around Rhys to any great effect, so she drapes their sheet around his shoulders along with her arms.
Efficient. It how she do. ]
We'll head for the hospital. In case that's where he wakes up. Okay?
no subject
[ Mean to be stoic, but he's warbling into his knees. He sniffles a mighty, snotty sniffle. ]
But I wish I could be, like, five places at one. Just -- like you said, in case. I don't want him to be alone again.

[ The idea of Vaughn not coming back isn't even being entertained. She's sure it's crossed Rhys' mind like it's crossed hers, but voicing it isn't going to help anyone. ]
We just have to keep on... keeping on, I suppose. So that we're actually in shape to go and get him when we're needed. Which means you should eat something.
no subject
Doable.
The... not the eating thing, so much. I feel like I'll get pukey.

[ Fussing is an easy habit to slip into. And a comforting one. ]
Even if it's just some bread. It doesn't have to be ice cream or anything.
And if you do want ice cream, it certainly doesn't have to be double chocolate.
