[network] @HOOK; DAY 016 [open]
MORNING. VIDEO.
( it takes a bit after waking to find his tablet, stowed close to him after he stumbles free from the odd table and bag he awoke in. he's incredibly uneasy and his expression might even be closed to panicked as he tries to communicate. )
Is anyone— Baelfire, Tinker Bell, are you still out there? I'm...
( not dead. yes, so it was hinted at a few times before he froze in the bitter cold, he still hadn't really believed it, and now here he is. he doesn't know what to think, but he feels very uneasy about it.
the camera turns away from him, showing the morgue, though not in as much detail as the pirate himself can see. )
There's so many here.
( has this place really claimed all these lives? or are they going to wake, just like him?
either way, Hook probably isn't going to stay long... though he might be able to look for a name on the way out, if he's caught before he leaves. )
EVENING. ACTION.
( he's feeling better than he managed before he died. what kind of irony is that? slept like the dead, apparently, and that's put him in more of a working order... yet, all the same, he still doesn't try to travel too far. he's going to survive and make it back to the school, try to find his group again, hopefully without any casualties this time.
yes, he knows death might not stick, but all those bodies in the place he awoke? no, he doesn't feel particularly confident that he can escape that fate twice. so instead he's off, found a place to stay the night, at least for now. he's poking around inside when the door opens, and he twists away from the very odd garden he was giving a once over to see who it is.
the face is familiar, and he frowns before finding the name that matches the face. ) Clarke, isn't it?

( or he didn't die in the first place, he's still hoping it's that over the idea of dying and somehow reviving from it. in his world, that's impossible, but is there another explanation? how is this sort of magic possible?
her paranoia is actually understandable, though for the record he feels himself. too himself to be formerly dead, though really, how would he ever know? )
I don't know. But there's got to be a way to catch them, or stop them. ( he'll at least try. there's got to be an answer. )
no subject
[ And they'll be ready to pounce on it to get some answers. ]
Your friends -- have they contacted you yet? I'm sorry, but I don't recognize their names. I'm still new, though, so I probably just haven't spoken to them yet.
no subject
( Baelfire was likely with TInk still, and the pirate doesn't know what to think about the fact she won't answer. it doesn't really matter, he'll try to find his way back to them anyway. )
You're new? How long have you been?
no subject
Five days now. I've been filled in on what everyone knows, which sadly isn't much. My name's Ellana.
no subject
( which means he's been a pace longer, and who knows how long he's been gone. )
Killian Jones. Are you with anyone? I've found that having a group makes this place a bit less taxing.
no subject
I am. My beloved is here too, and luckily we ran into one another.
[ Absolute pure luck, because Cullen hadn't looked at his tablet at all beyond registering it. Had he made himself known on the network, she would have rushed to meet him. As it was, things worked out. ]
And it does. I feel better knowing we have each others' backs. Now if only we could find something useful beyond dolls and blackened paper.
no subject
( Hook barely remembers what it's like to have a beloved, but if he did, he wouldn't be very keen on leaving her side. he had Tink, and Baelfire, before he pushed too far and too hard and ended up paying the price. )
Mind the magic glass, if it says to go inside, do it. And try not to go anywhere alone. ( he's got it in him to not want to see someone torn from who they love, he knows what that feels like. )
I've not had any luck on that end. I found a bit of plastic that lets me work on maps, and bits and pieces, but nothing that gives any answers as to why we're here or who is responsible.
no subject
[ And two pairs of eyes searching is definitely better than one, not to mention the security she feels being with him. Not having her magic has made her feel far more vulnerable than she likes. ]
Have you been working on a map of this town?
no subject
I intend to start now. I know some others were running one up, you might ask around for it.
no subject
I'll do that.
[ Being here just drives home the fact that she relies on so many people in the Inquisition. She may be their leader, but she wouldn't be able to do half as much without them. ]
Being here is making me miss so many from home. We had forward scouts, agents who knew the area, soldiers to build roads and bridges. Everyone had something to offer.

( they can designate certain tasks to those with more skill in the process, if something goes wrong there's not going to be anyone squandering alone. they might be able to make this place more livable if they all came together. )
There were talks of finding a base camp, I don't know if they've found one. ( if they haven't, he intends to. )
no subject
[ Though having a camp might not work perfectly with the strange feelings people get here. ]
There's also the fact that we feel compelled to leave where we're staying after a few days. Maybe there should be two camps, close to each other, so a person can go from one to the other when those feelings start.
no subject
( he's never stayed in one place long enough to experience that. it's disconcerting how much this place can plant in a persons head. and it's not magic even Hook has heard of before.
he frowns as he considers that, but it's probably a question for another time. )
We might have to make a cycle, then. Close to food. I know the school had some, it's middling. About a days travel from the north wall.
no subject
[ And she's not sure what will happen if they don't. ]
I saw the school in the distance, but I headed east. I'm sure I know the way back to it.
no subject
( it makes it intensely hard to know what is real in this place, he's always left wondering. what is real? what isn't? )
I'll be headed there as soon as I can. There's food there in the galley, though it's frozen. Everything here seems to be.
no subject
[ It seems the longer she's here, the worse things get. ]
That's fine. I can figure out a way to warm it. Maybe put whatever it is inside my coat.
no subject
( food, fingers, bodies, water... everything. )
It at least seems to have plenty to offer. There were three of us, we got a weeks worth for each.
no subject
[ She was told not to search the school alone, and she's seen the video of those screaming shadow creatures. ]
Then that's definitely where he and I need to go. These rations are edible, but just barely. And we're both without our weapons and I'm without my magic. One of us going alone isn't an option.
no subject
( Hook didn't see the video of the school, or the dangerous creatures that may or may not exist there. he was there for a time without any issue at all. he still agrees that it's not wise to go anywhere unarmed, however. )
I had a weapon, I broke it on one of those sealed doors. You might be able to find something in a building, just look sharp. It won't be conventional ( he hasn't seen a sword or anything like that, meaning ) but surely there's something.
no subject
[ There's a bit of a frown touching her lips, because she did try to think of something, but it just wasn't feasible. The pieces are too small and she doesn't have a handle of any kind to attach it to (unless a plastic spoon counts), nor anything to attach it with. ]
We'll figure something out. Anything heavy enough to hurt will do.
no subject
( you can't say pirates aren't creative, at the very least. no, a bit of broken glass isn't immensely helpful. it's just in this place it seems they have to make the most of absolutely nothing. )
Aye. If I find more than one, then I'll see what I can do about bringing all I find to wherever we all decide to meet.
no subject
You're very generous. I'll keep listening here to see what camp location we decide on.
no subject
If I hear anything myself, I'll let you know.
