At the time, I didn't see you as a priority. I was definitely on the Prophet's side and for whatever reason I was convinced you were a corruption in town, but I think I managed to convince myself there were bigger, more aggressive threats to turn my attention to. As long as I wasn't siding with you, that seemed to be enough.

I'd like to say I'm just that much of a genius, but I think it's more that I'm just that good at lying to myself. But either way I don't plan on slipping up.

i didnt really stop to check the rest of the group before i left
but like i said right at the start i didnt even have a scratch left over
no blood
no marks
no nothing
like waking up from a dream except it felt real at the time and the people i met still remember it
and i dont really want to think of it as a dream anyway
because everyones still dealing with the fallout
the glowing eyes are all ive got from it
even this pair of scissors nat gave me last night are gone completely now

[A better impression. Well, Tony can't tell him that the reason he knew he could be distracted is because he knows how bad he is. It's not the first time something has gone this way, and he only fought as hard as he did because he has a system for taking himself out when these things do happen.
