[network] @featherydouche; digging for info; text; night 175 [open]

sup norfinbury
for those who dont know me the names davesprite and ive got some questions
first off im wondering if any of yall have any info or stuff youve seen or just weird shit that has happened that you dont think is marked down anywhere
or that has since been forgotten about but youre still wondering what the fuck
because ive been doing a lot of reading up on this place and the vast array of nonsense that goes down on the regular to try and consolidate it all a little better
partly to write a guide to help catch the newbies up to speed and part because i want to find out whats going on
so if theres anything
some little factoid that you dont know how it links up but is too weird to ignore
something no one talks about anymore but might have a part in this
anything youre just plain curious about
go ahead and list it off and we can get ourselves a discussion going

secondly
who here can tell me about the trolls that were around
i know there were at least four because ive seen them in the morgues
theyre related to the place i come from but it seems like they were all gone before i showed up
and its kind of weird to think about
on that note
was anyone by the name john egbert rose lalonde or dave strider ever here before
jade might have mentioned them so dont worry about that
im asking if they were in the town at all
thats all

It's not something I haven't had to ponder, myself. I am immortal - or I was, and had special powers, before this place. And yet, I would not consider myself truly divine.

I would say the difference is in origin. Humans or human-like beings such as the monsters of Frisk's world are of mortal origin even if they themselves are not or are no longer mortal. We are born through mundane means. Divine beings are created, rather than born. How we came to be shapes how we see the world and others, and I think that creates a distinction.

isn't it though!

You still were born and lived as a mortal, even if your conception wasn't ordinary. I stand partially corrected, but I did say the distinction is about how we see the world.

And, how could I forget? How we see ourselves.

Which do you consider yourself? Which do you consider your people?

You said "what makes the difference between humanity and divinity", and I gave the best response I could. I'm not ignoring it. A label can't change what they can and cannot do.

But at the same time, my experience with divine beings tells me there is something fundamentally inhuman in how they perceive the world. The angels I know, they don't understand the finer details of what it means to live on Earth. They have been too far removed from it. They don't know what it is to need to learn. To be a child. I don't mean it to demean them, I love my friends dearly. But it's also why I still call myself human, because though I can do what they do and would not age, it isn't who I am.

You and your friends are free to decide for yourselves what you are - free will is something that no one should presume to take. I only want to say that you need not feel pressured to call yourselves something you don't want. Because no ascension can truly take all that you once were.

I suppose the answer to the initial question is "what you make of it".

I have. My closest friend is an angel, in fact. I can hardly remember a time he wasn't at my side. Before coming here, I mean.

I suppose from your position you can see it's fact they don't.

[For any other circumstance, he'd appeal to the lack of certain evidence, but...not here.]

By catching God's eye somehow. I don't recall the details, but I was invited to live in Heaven, and I do mean live, that is, still alive. That isn't a normal occurrence by any means.

That was three hundred years and some decades ago, however. Forgive my lack of clear memory of the time.

So the space between worlds is as an ocean where you come from? That's not too dissimilar, I think, from what little I've heard of it, save the existence of life within it.
warriorscribe: (I don't know...)

That's certainly descriptive. If they create these bubbles, I take it they aren't pleasant?

Is there no better place for these poor souls to go than in the company of these things? They sound like demons to me, possession and all. Demonic possession is one of the worst things one can be subjected to. Was your sister able to be freed?
warriorscribe: (Must it be?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2016-11-22 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
So you had a means of revival? Only two people in my world can say as much. Death isn't pleasant by any means, but I'm glad it didn't take her from you.

Who judges them?

I, one of the two, have help from a time traveler, myself. The other died, in truth, but was allowed to reincarnate with full memory of her previous life.

Not myself, in truth. My dearest friend is an Archangel with control over time. When I am on the verge of death, he rescues me by freezing time and removing me from danger, or returning me to an earlier time.

[And because he associates with a time traveler, he knows why. Or can guess, at least.]

Of course. I don't think I always remembered what happened in the events that never came to be, when he pulls me from the brink of death, but I remember without fail now.
