[ The tablet's camera isn't focused on Kanan. Instead, it's held at a considerable arm's length to show off what he's got in his other hand: Vanitas's pet, wiggling in a spirited attempt at escaping. Kanan's holding it by what would be the scruff on a normal animal. It doesn't seem to be in pain, but who can really tell? ]

Alright, fight thing. I don't know his network name, maybe one of you does - guy with a bad attitude, black helmet, and a skirt? Needs to come pick up his pet. Found it wandering around the museum area alone and it won't stop following me. It's taking up way too much of my food. If he doesn't say anything, it's free to a good home. Maybe it likes to cuddle.

[ He puts the Unversed back on the floor, gently for someone who seems to be so annoyed about it, and refocuses the camera on his face. His goatee is a wreck! ]

Second of all. Ran across some kind of shrine in the apartment building, looked like it was used for blood sacrifice at some point. Decided to give it a shot. [ He holds up one hand to the camera, where the prophet's symbol is marked permanently on his skin. ] Not sure what this does, but I'm guessing it's probably not good.

Third thing, left some supplies in the museum if anyone needs 'em. It's not much but it should tide you over.

Talked to her on the network, yeah. [ They hadn't really talked when they spent the night in the same place; Kanan'd been too busy arguing with Zach. ] Might shoot her a message later if she didn't see this.

You're on your way over here?

Yup, I am. [ A pause. ] We are. I travel with a small group. [ Can't leave them out of it. ] Kesara is something though. She's pretty amazing.

Seems like she's got a pretty good head on her shoulders.

[ He doesn't really know her, beyond that, but he's not terribly worried about her ability to take care of herself in Norfinbury based on what he's seen on the network. ]

Make sure you all stock up on food on your way in. So far nobody's found a source or an exit in this place, and it's tricky to get back out.

How many are you traveling with? Isn't that dangerous?

There aren't a lot of people here who are as brave as she is.

[ She does a lot on her own and got over her fear to stand up to a monster. It was pretty great on it's own. ]

It's not that dangerous as long as it's not a huge gathering. [ He nods even if Kanan can't see. ] I'll let Kain- Kunsel know about the food source. There are four of us total and a cat.

Then we could probably use more people like her.

Good to know - about the groups, that is. Ended up in the shack by the school with seven or eight people and it almost killed us. Not exactly an experience I'm keen to repeat.

Kunsel's one of the guys you're with? standardissue?

That's him! I'm also travel with Zack Fair and my boyfriend.

[ He doesn't need to introduce Mochi, right? ]

You're safe with a group of five. Maybe six at most. Any time the group was larger than that, we usually got visited by those things.

Sounds like you found a pretty good crew.

[ Assuming the boyfriend isn't a total loser. ]

Does the cat count toward your total?

[ The boyfriend is the OPPOSITE OF LOSER. ]

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky. [ Grinning as he rubs his nose bridge. ]

I don't know if he does. If he does, then you might be safe with seven. The anomalies don't really bother with him though.

If anybody is here. You can survive a lot with good people.

[ Kanan spent a long time trying to deny that, but the past few years, well, they've proven him wrong. ]

Mostly I'm curious if this ... thing does.

I think you're safe. If you aren't attached to it, you can try chucking it at the next monster you see.

[ So far only Mochi, that other cat, Dug, and Dumpy count as PROTECT AT ALL COST clause. This thing... reminded him of another creature from his world. ]

[ Kanan's not a pacifist and he's killed more than a few people, droids, and sentient creatures in his time, but: ]

I don't like it, but it's still a living thing.

[ Kanan. Look at the thing. It looks like a couple of evolutions away from a creeper ]

Yeah, I guess it is. [ Maybe. ] Does it do anything?

[ Look, it's... probably not inherently evil. Kanan thinks. ]

Tries to take swipes at me once in a while. Eats. Wanders around a lot. It's like a lothcat with pointier claws.

[ Swipes at him? Is he sure he doesn't want to throw it at the next monster? ]

Lothcat? [ Turning on the camera to aim it at Mochi. ] Do they look like him?

[ He's sure. Damn it. Kanan squints at the screen. ]

-Well, they're not that fat. Are you feeding that thing all your rations?

Not all of my rations! We do share a bit with him.

[ He reaches over to scritch the kitty. ]

I think he came here already pretty fat.

He'd have to have been the size of a small moon.

that's no small moon, it's a space station

He's not that big. Isn't that right, Mochi?

[ Mochi meows in response to his name. ]

-if you say so.

[ Maybe it's just a species thing. ]

Can't believe no one's eaten it yet.

[ He frowns, even if Kanan can't see. ]

I think the idea did cross a few. Not going to let that happen. He's part of the family!

Then I guess it's a good thing he's got someone like you looking out for him.

Someone has to until his owners come back. [ Rubbing behind his ear until he's rumbling LOUDly. ] He's like their legacy.

[ And guess who is learning the Kanan is soft. :D ]
