Guy- uh, Guy-brush threep-wood? Wow, that's a mouthful.

[ Zach slides in behind her- ] That's what she said! Eh, ehhhh? [ He grins. Steph turns around to make finger-guns at him, then turns back to the camera as though nothing happened. ]

Anyway, Guy found an SD card yesterday morning. Since the video didn't get posted until today, I'm guessing that wasn't the only one out there. The one he found was orange, hot to the touch. Hot enough that I thought it was going to burn our fingers. I'm pretty sure he was running a fever after we uploaded the card, but no other symptoms.

So how many cards were there? Were they all orange? And did anyone else have any weird side effects after using them?

And everyone else - thoughts?

Looks like someone has a colorful sense of humor.

[ Look at the rainbow of SD cards. Seriously. Look at it.

You know. And how incredibly screwed up this all is. At least... At least Kunsel didn't get the worst of it. But that doesn't really make him feel any better knowing other people have suffered these symptoms.. ]

"Colorful" is definitely the word for it. Some of the symptoms make sense for the color scheme, but some of them are just weird. Like, why is purple metal?

Search me. I'd say maybe it has to do with being cold, but that yellow one already had that covered. Maybe it has something to do with where it was...? There's sure a lot of metal in that station, you know? Bars... Hand cuffs...

[ Honestly, he's grasping at straws here and he knows it. But it's all he's got. ]

You know, it's pretty messed up when you really think about it though. Just how did those even get there in the first place... ?

There's another good question. Who encrypted the video in the first place, and why? Why did it show up now? How did the Admin know we could find the cards, and if she had an idea where they were why couldn't she get them herself?

All I can figure is she's stuck in town somewhere unable to get out. But if that were the case, how would she still even be alive? Unless it was some sort of... I dunno. Safe house where anyone important was supposed to hide out if something went wrong.

[ That's granted Eve's human. He still wonders sometimes whether that's true or not, but... ]

I mean the only thing I figure is maybe it was something she had to handed off to those weird spiders. I mean the system here sends them out for all kinds of things. It's not weird to think they could plant the cards all over town.

[ "Human" can mean a whole lot of things, as Zack would know. ]

So why couldn't the spiders retrieve them? Or are they not working together quite like we think?

Exactly. [ Well, eating's not that complicated to him. But dealing with frozen food is kinda a buzz kill. But he can agree with the drinking.

Any way you look at it, it's pretty nuts to think we'd suddenly oh-so-conveniently have all these cards on hand. Even if she only just found them, why throw them all over the place like that? And why booby trap them- how even?

[ Thinking about all of this just overcomplicates things anyway... Bad enough all he'd had to worry about back with the clones. Zack sighs in exasperation. ]

No, they were definitely planted recently, or dropped, or whatever.

I imagine it has something to do with our nanobots, but that doesn't really explain why. And if it's a booby trap, why were the effects so harmless?

Who knows? [ That's another scoff right there. ] Unless they were there all along and we just never saw from because of these stupid nanites.

[ What the hell is even real or not real with this place anymore sometimes? ] Unless she was waiting for us to actually start to believe her, but that doesn't feel like it would make sense. Why wait? Especially if it's true that we're on a time limit.

This is all so stupidly complicated.

We have to assume that our senses aren't lying to us unless we're given evidence to the contrary.

[ Stupidly complicated is an understatement. ]

Yeah... That's really all we can do. Besides, I don't know about you, but I don't like thinking about the alternatives.

[ If their senses are lying to them about that, what else have they been lying to them about all this time on a regular basis? It's one thing when it's obviously a hallucination, but otherwise... That's just getting into some pretty messy territory. ]

Been there and done that. I don't recommend it.
