[log] THE ROOM SERVICE HERE IS DEPLORABLE [closed]

Characters: America, Bruce, Ginger, The Joker, and The Undertaker (and anyone else at the Hotel)
Location: The Hotel (Building 162)
Date: Days 165-167
Summary: Some cute blondes run into some bad eggs but it's okay because they're gonna work together to find an SD card!
Warnings: Mild creepiness? Joker being himself? Will update as necessary.

[The Description for the hotel is as follows:

A hotel--the Norfinbury Inn. By hotel standards, it's not especially large, but it's the largest building in the downtown area. The lobby is mostly empty and seems a bit old-fashioned in design, with what appear to be wooden floors and fairly plain walls. There are a few cozy areas where people can sit, and a fireplace in the center that, while it has no wood, is in perfect working order. The front desk has nothing of note except for all the keycards to the various rooms of the hotel. It looks like there are a total of twenty rooms. There is no elevator--looks like you'll have to use the stairs the old-fashioned way.

There is a small dining room area, although there are no tables or chairs to be found. The room echoes uncomfortably due to its emptiness. It connects to a small industrial kitchen, although there is no longer any food or appliances to be found. It seems like the ovens and stoves were cut out of their places. The sinks still work, at least. There is also a door that unlocks with a management keycard that can be found in the lobby that leads downstairs.

The basement is very simple. It's colder down here than in the rest of the building, and utilitarian in style. There's a small break room, a laundry room that no longer has any of its machinery but does have large rolling baskets for moving clothes in bulk (that refuse to leave the hotel, unfortunately) and some cleaning carts devoid of cleaning supplies (that are just as stubborn as the clothes baskets). There's a small room with space for what must have once been a furnace--and an actual very old-fashioned incinerator. It's not on, of course, but if a fire were started manually, it would still function. There's nothing inside it.

The first floor of the hotel contains rooms 101 to 110. There are five single rooms and five double rooms. All of the plumbing works, though the water runs cold. The second floor, containing rooms 201 to 210, is identical to the first floor, except for one door that has no key. It's unlocked--going inside reveals an empty room covered in pictures of an eye, drawn in black paint.]

[It's fairly late in the day when America walks into the hotel with Ginger. He looks around the hotel lobby long enough to confirm nothing is going to spring out at them and then grins at her.]

There's lots of space here. We could even have our own rooms if we wanted, I bet. [But it's actually way too cold for that.

He doesn't look it at all, but he's still got an eye and an ear out for any signs of anyone else here. Gotta take care of Ginger.]
exequies: (whoa there)

[Undertaker almost doesn't make it to lockdown. He was new, so most would assume he'd be at least a bit incompetent when it came to learning his way about. So he took his time, only really booking it for the hotel once darkness was starting to fall, tumbling through the entrance by the skin of his teeth with only a few moments to spare.

He's out of breath (which isn't entirely faked) from the 'ordeal', as he flops onto the lobby floor and tries to embrace it like a drowning man for shore. His hat tips askew, but he doesn't right it just yet.]

Sanctuary!

[Then he pauses, as if only then considering that he might not be alone and pushes himself half-way off the floor.]

That was a mite close, wasn't it?

[You're only a criminal if you get caught, Ginger. Undertaker reaches up to adjust his hat, pushing himself more upright as he goes. He's only a little surprised at being greeted by a young lady (mostly by the bright tone of her voice) before he responds.]

Yes, me too. [Glad that he made it in, that is, even if he wasn't in true danger of not making it.] It'd be a shame to die that quickly! Might never feel like showing my face here, again... hee hee~

[He watches, or rather listens to her move about as he breathes into his fingers in an effort to warm them up.]

Are you looking for something?
exequies: (Too white and nerdy)

[personal profile] exequies 2016-10-15 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that's right... I'd almost forgotten about it.

[He hadn't at all, and had in fact been keeping an eye out for one. Sadly he'd turned up empty handed so far.]

Collecting supplies and getting my bearings, to be honest. But if you'd like extra help I might be persuaded.

bruce + bruce & joker

bruce, alone
[BATMAN AND JOKER ARRIVE. Unfortunately.

The Joker is thankfully still handcuffed above the elbows, but perhaps that isn't necessarily what will bother most people. Batman seems immune to the teasing and the funny business by his perpetual scowling mouth. The Joker, of course, is never too far out of reach or eye-sight.

But even Bruce Wayne needs a break from the Clown Prince of Crime.

There's people here, and Bruce doesn't care for it. He's not planning to stay long. If anything, he's making a point to avoid the others unless they approach. With the Joker not too far, he surveys and investigates the basement.]

bruce + joker
[In the eye room on the first floor, the Joker's distinctive voice can be heard conversing with another more low and stern one. Surprisingly, the two of them appear to be having a somewhat civil conversation.]

[It's a surprisingly accommodating answer. Undertaker regains his footing with a swift, nimble hop up from the lobby's floor.]

You aren't worried about finding it first?

[He also believes that's the first time anyone's used that pet name on him. It makes him cock his head slightly before he gives a broad smile and responds rather exhuberantly.] Anything at all, really! I was advised to take whatever I could, so I've got a bit of a hodge-podge. But--

[Slinging his backpack from off his shoulders, he brings it around in front of himself and unzips it. Then pulls out the sandwich bags he'd picked up at his search of the grocery store.] --I've found these! Remarkable little things, how they seal up.

[The staring and silence isn't necessarily meant to scare Ginger. It's just his way of assessing her quickly, and he prefers peace and quiet to do it in. Thankfully, it only lasts a short time.]

Is there something you need?

[HE NEEDS A BIT OF OTHER COMPANY.]
srsbat: (rip to all the hours of sleep lost)

[personal profile] srsbat 2016-10-20 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hello. [Look, just because he's Batman doesn't mean he can't sometimes be polite to the people who deserve it.] We're fine on food for now. If you have extra, give it to someone who has nothing. [As in, they're not starving, so they're okay.]

How long have you been here?
harlequinofhate: (You can never fall far enough.)

Joker (alone)

[personal profile] harlequinofhate 2016-10-20 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
((NOTE: For Batsy and Joker see above!))

[Joker is rarely too far from Batman but sometimes the two can be seen separate even if they are constantly aware of one another.

The clown stands nonchalantly against a wall, still wearing his flowery hat and dark sunglasses. When people walk past he grins toothily.]

[He smiles back with an expression that might be charming on a different face.]

Ma cherie!

Just the lady I wanted to see.

Like my brooch?

[He hooks a thumb towards the glittering bejeweled ornament pinned to the breast of his coat.]

[He tries his best to make a vague gesture in the air with his arms bound.]

Took it off a fella a while back. A mutual friend.

I think he wanted you to have it.

[Wearing the glitzy trophy as proof of Clayton's murder has been fun, certainly. It has been a sly way of letting certain people know he is responsible for the doctor's untimely death.

But it has been weeks now. Maybe even months.

The joke just isn't funny anymore.]
srsbat: (Ick.)

[personal profile] srsbat 2016-10-20 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
[Luckily, he would have just said, "Both."]

Four months is a long time. [For here. To be trapped. But call him newly curious.] Were you here when "dreams" had been traded between everyone?
harlequinofhate: (Vote for me or I'll kill you.)

[personal profile] harlequinofhate 2016-10-20 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, it's a bit garish for my taste.

Never wanted the dang thing.

[The sad expression on Ginger's face, that of a woman in mourning, is a bit funny. He can't help but enjoy this reaction.]

It's yours.

[personal profile] srsbat 2016-10-25 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yikes. Well, Bruce at least won't comment on the second part. Otherwise, he'd just be full of sourpuss doubt and bust her bubble with, "ACTUALLY..."]

Tell me what happened. Did you share a "dream" with any of the former residents?
srsbat: (pic#10575190)

[personal profile] srsbat 2016-11-02 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[So: acting like a bird and Sparrow. Lost, at least from a parent.]

Do you know what may have scared her? Did she say, or did you happen to see what it was?

[personal profile] exequies 2016-11-11 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
[They probably look completely mad right now, freaking out over sandwich bags. At least Undertaker doesn't care about looking like a weirdo.]

I know! Was right pleased when I found them.

[He doesn't offer her one, and places it back safely inside his backpack before he slings it back over one shoulder. The long sleeve of his coat gets wound up in the strap, but he rights it back with one tug from his other hand.]

But back to this SD card... where have you been searching? Perhaps we could cover everything more thoroughly with two pairs of eyes.
