The residential district is a good place to start. Most people have had luck there. Where are you?
pistolproof: nah son i just don't want to go back to the locker (conversion?)

J2.

[ He's had a look at the map. He's all but surrounded by different houses -- and a very long way away from where people tell him he can get alcohol. ]

You sayin' I need to take things from people's houses?

[ Natasha, stealing things is wrong. ]

[OKAY JACK.]

Trust me, the owners aren't going to miss them. They've been dead for decades.
pistolproof: and really bad eggs (/hums a pirate's life for me)

Ah.

[ He nods his head in agreement, ceding the point. ]

Well in that case.

The houses aren't all searched, then?

[ Because that's what he would do -- take everything from every place he could find, leaving nothing for everyone else. ]

Most of them have been searched, but something seems to restock them. The supply points—the school, convenience store, and all the rest—restock every night.
pistolproof: you know, for reasons and purposes (beard close up)

That's interesting...

[ He runs a hand across his braided goatee, eyes distant as he makes a note of that point. ]

Something? Or someone?

[ Alternatively: both? ]

Everything seems to be run mechanically, with the Admin in control of most of the town's functions. So, yes, both.
pistolproof: we need a goat, an hourglass, a trumpet... (you must do exactly as I say)

Ah, yes. The Admin.

And how, exactly, is it that they restock everything? [ He taps his finger on the tablet to emphasize his point. ] Map be too big for one person.

[ Please keep in mind -- Jack comes from a time before the Industrial Revolution. There were no trains. There was barely an idea of a steam engine. How everything could be run mechanically is lost on him. ]
