Yes, he probably did; and yes, you probably should have.

[He still sounds so distracted. He wishes he was there in person, it would be a lot easier to manipulate those fingers himself.]

You're an archer, which is not a common hobby. Usually only pursued by one of three types of people; the wealthy who can afford to study archaic hobbies, the professional competitor, and the entertainer. Your syntax immediately rules out wealthy, your self effacing demeanour - posture hunched in, broken sentences, a lot of hesitancy in your words - does not speak of the confidence of a professional athlete. That left a performer. Someone who has to use marksmanship with an old weapon to earn a living, probably daredevil stunts and trick shots, ergo a carnival or circus.

Though you obviously haven't been a performer for some time. Your muscle tone is too defined, full training and a very physical job. Not a soldier, not enough discipline, mercenary or vigilante. Likely the second, probably with a penchant for heroics, your expression and eye contact are too open and honest for a mercenary.

Nope. It's just fine. I've been doing a better job of keeping them warm, too. What are you even looking for?

Nothing. And I've found it.

[He knew there would be nothing there. It's all some elaborate illusion; there's no scars, no evidence there ever was frostbite, and no finger reattachment surgery could be so clean or leave so few problems.]
