[ At least he assumes. Excuse him while he badly points the camera at his feet. ]

...Did you show up without shoes?

Little bit. [ So yes. ] I can tell you're wearing like, one shoe. So that's great.

[ Sniff. ] Make sure you keep everything dry and as warm as you can, because frostbite settles in super quick. And you can't, uh. Check, exactly, to see if it's doing that settling.

Ah. I can't feel the camera on this thing, sorry.

[ Why are these damn things so sleek. Who invented touch screens in favor or buttons. ]

I'm gonna be keeping out of the cold for now, my senses aren't super helpful in thick snow.

[ More seriously now: ]

Clint. Did you get frostbite?

[ HUFF. ]

Yeah, but I don't have it now. I died and it went away. [ He still has not... dealt with dying, but that's cool, he can keep sitting on that forever, thanks. He did it the other two or... three times he died. ]

Weird, though. They left you blind and left me deaf - how well can you get around? [ aka how do your powers work here, Matt, Clint is curious. Their robot overlords seem to leave them with just enough to be able to get by, considering his hearing aids. ]

[ That's.... not a good argument, Clint. That is no bueno. But the last thing he's gonna do is bring up "so how was it when you died." ]

I can still feel shapes with my radar sense, I just have to turn my head to get it to work. Which is... really weird. And not how a "radar" is supposed to work.

[ He's more upset about this than he's letting on, but if Clint is still deaf then he knows it's not really his place to complain... hence, the private filter. ]

I'm pretty useless once I step outside. I couldn't make snow work before, never mind like this.

[ Huh. That is definitely weird. ] I gotta tell you I don't really think I get how your stuff works in the first place, but I trust you know it's gone bad.

And uh - you know I'm deaf, then. [ So Matt is either close to where Clint is from, or around there, which definitely gets his attention. He keeps the radar stuff in mind. ] What's the last thing you remember? 'Cause Nat and Tony didn't know I was deaf again when I first got here.

[ It's hard enough to describe as it is, so Matt's okay with that. ]

I heard about that, yeah. [ Matt can't imagine not having his hearing, but then people probably can't imagine not having their sight. They can start a club! ]

I just moved to San Francisco a few months ago after I went public with my identity. More specifically, I was tracking The Owl to Alcatraz with his daughter, but I had it pretty much under control. [ He did not, but he really doesn't want to talk about his problems if no one else knows about them. ] It was 2015, if that helps.

[ Because why not add time travel on top of everything? ]

Aww, jeeze, you're ahead of me. It's - 2013? Almost 2014, for me.

[ He's pretty sure. Time escapes him sometimes. Clint doesn't think it's... very important for them to know the specifics, just because he doesn't want to fuck with the future. ]

Timelines are stupid and give me a headache. [ Guhhh. ] Look, are you gonna be able to get around okay? Should we come get you?

I see. Guess I'd still be "Not Daredevil" to you.

[ That's a joke only Matt gets, don't laugh. ]

I'm... not sure. [ It pains him to admit this. Like, a lot. Matt can't stand asking for help. He sighs. ] I can't read the map to tell where I am.

... Right. [ Clint is giving the tablet a raised eyebrow look, but it doesn't matter because it's audio and he's talking to Matt. ]

So we should probably come get you. The problem there is trying to figure out... where you're at. [ He figures at least Natasha is going to want to keep an eye on him. ] But there's the problem of big groups, and - we still gotta get Bucky, too.

Man, you dropped in at the worst possible time. Are you sure that's not your superpower? [ CLINT don't be mean. ]

I'm working on figuring it out. So far no one seems to recognize the house I'm in.

[ Big groups, yeah. Matt read up on that. That would be bad. ]

It might be, honestly. Hasn't been the first time bad things got worse when I showed up.

[ He tried to make that cheery, he really did. ]

[ He'd apologize, but. He's had a rough few days, so he skips it, because if there's one thing Hawkeye does well, it's being a brat. ]

You wanna maybe tilt the tablet around so I can try to see what the house looks like?

[ Things they have in common. This Is Fine. ]

Sure. [ He picks up the tablet and starts walking around the house. Slanted walls, loft bed, kitchen and living room. Anything stand out about building 239 to Clint? ]

Not... really. [ Weh. He's never been to the entrance area, so he's totally at a loss. ] I'm not gonna tell you to walk out there into the snow on your own, 'cause I really don't want to see your name on the obituaries. Uh.

All I can suggest is keep showing people the building you're in. Nobody's gonna stab a blind guy. Especially a new blind guy. So you don't have to worry about giving away your location, at least?

Yeah, that's about as far as I'd get, too.

[ Matt laughs. ]

Hope so. I haven't played the blind card in a while, that should be fun.

[ He is all for using his disability to his advantage though, you don't survive as long as Matt has without playing it up. ]

Let us know if you end up needing us to head down and help? We're uh - looking out for someone, right now, but then I think we're gonna head to the eastern tunnels to make sure they get food.

I don't know how much Nat has told you.

Will do. [ Maybe. ] She didn't mention anything about looking out for somebody.

[ She did say she was 'busy' though, it doesn't surprise Matt to know there was more shit involved. ]

Though she did say she and Tony died pretty recently.

... Yeah. [ He doesn't sound happy about that. His voice gets a little tighter. ] They got locked out in the snow because of all the static we had recently.

[ Understandably so. ]

I heard. Sounds like hell to me.

Yeah. I can't say it's not going to happen again. I can't predict anything that happens here. So, you know - just... be careful with the snow. I know you will.

[ Aww, that's more confidence than anyone else has had in him. You're the best, Clint. ]
