Because coding junk programs is fun when I'm bored. And it helps me sort my own thoughts when I'm having too many of them at once.

Okay, so-- how do you transfer programs you've written to someone else? How does Steph have this app now?

[phaseshifter]

Simple file transfer over the network. A lot like when Winter distributed her app, I suppose.

Except the administrator got huffy about unapproved programs being mass distributed when I tried to get it out to a bunch more people, so. I guess SD cards would be needed for anything that a significant number of people would want or need.

Do you know how many people you could send one out to without it getting you into trouble?

Assuming I could do it again with another app, maybe four or five?? That's where she seems to get all antsy about it.

If you made one and sent it out to four people, could they then send it to a different four people and so on, without her getting annoyed?

[phaseshifter]

I doubt it. That sounds a lot like trying to game the system, which would be a really good way to get my privileges revoked entirely.

Ditto remaking the app, renaming it, and adding like one extra line of junk code so it's technically different.

...I take it that's something you've already tried then, huh?

[phaseshifter]

Not here, and not with the admin. But I'm used to being scrutinised and having my attempts to wriggle out of dumb restrictions be punished, so I'd... Kinda rather skip that stage here. She's smart enough that it wouldn't work.

Yeah, but I think she also kind of likes you, right? Maybe it's a system restriction and she'd be happy to look the other way.

I don't know why people are so insistent on thinking that she favours me in any way. My requests go as unheeded as everyone else's, dude. Maybe moreso since the whole hacking... thing.

Sorry, I'm not doubting you, it's just-- I don't know, it just seemed like you were on good terms. Or better than the rest of us, at least.

Well. I'm fonder of her than most people seem to be, so people probably just assume it goes both ways. Pretty sure it isn't actually the case, though.
