[ She truly is. Sheena's always interested in stories from other worlds. ]

What if I promise to tell you a story from my world?

Hey, that sounds fair!

[But, really, he just wants to tell his LeChuck Blowing Up Story again.]

Okay! You first.

[ He can't see it, but Sheena's getting comfortable, sitting on the floor with a blanket over her.

Fire away, Guybrush! ]

[And he tells a story about himself washing up on shore on a strange island. Everyone there immediately knows he's a mighty pirate and the resident governess falls madly in love with him then is kidnapped by LeChuck.

Bravely, Guybrush goes to her rescue on Monkey Island where he dodges cannibals and goes to Hell. But LeChuck has already dragged her back to the previous island for a wedding! So Guybrush chases the undead hellbeast down and blows him up with "voodoo root".

He tells the story with great enthusiasm, making voices where appropriate. Some of the story, like the part where he slays a giant dragon, sound made up.]

What's "voodoo root"? And did you really go into Hell? You're alive, how could you do that?

[ Yes, she's taken the story seriously--despite the way it's told. Or that it may sound exaggerated to some. Especially one part... ]

You took on a dragon by yourself? It took several of us to do something like that back home.

[ Yep, she's being sincere because that's the world she's from. ]

Voodoo Root. You know, it's like...

It's like root beer.

[Almost exactly like root beer.]

And I sure did slay a dragon by myself! I used my...uh.

Okay, I embellished a little for drama, you caught me.

I did go to Hell though, that part's true.

What's "root beer"? Is that beer made from roots?

[ She's used to wine and sake and was introduced to pop only recently. ]

So, you didn't fight a dragon? Or did you have help doing it?

[ Don't embellish. The story's good without them. ]

So how did you get into Hell? You're not dead, and only the dead can go, right?

It's like...actually, I have no idea how people make it. Fermented roots?

As for the dragon, uhm.... There was no dragon. I lied.

[There's a long pause before he addresses that last question.]

Hell I guess I just walked into.

[He tries to sound flippant as he says that but really the memory is forming a tight knot of anxiety in his chest.]

So it is a drink? I wonder if anyone else here has heard of it...

[ She has a feeling the answer to that is "yes" considering there are a lot of different worlds represented here. ]

No dragon? [ She pauses as she shakes her head. ] You didn't add that just to impress me, did you?

Because just walking into Hell is impressive enough.

[ Again, he underestimated his audience. ]

I just thought that part of the story needed some epic-ifying.

Cause, erm...the truth is I spent that part of my journey unconscious on my ship.

Trust me; it didn't. Your story's fine the without it.

[ She pauses. ]

Were you hurt before you left?

[mightypirate]

Nnnnoooo. No, it was a spell, the fumes knocked me out for a few days.

[He grumbles under his breath.]

....Nobody else on the ship seemed to notice.

I didn't forget you! I've been having a bad couple of weeks. :(

Were there any side effects when you woke up?

[ There's a moment of stunned silence. ]

What do you mean? No one notieced? They just left you lying there, being tossed around by the ship as it moved?

Yeah, they just left me there in the galley! I mean they must have seen me down there but they never did anything!

....You know, I don't think they liked me much.

[ninjainviolet]

In the galley? [ Oh wow. That could have been dangerous with the silverware and other things down there. But Sheena sees a bright side to this. ] At least they didn't leave you on deck where you could fall overboard.

[ Silver lining! ]

But why didn't they like you? Did you do something you shouldn't have?

[ She likes you, though! ]
