[He's not a doctor, but who knows how quickly one of the doctors will respond to this?]

What's wrong? Where are you hurt?

I'm not a doctor, but I know some basic field medicine.

My ankle. I slipped on the ice and fell really hard--I'm not sure if it's broken or not. I'm having a hard time moving it.

[She's not lying. At least, not about slipping on the ice. That really happened in her immediate "where am I" stage when she went outside. The cold, and fact that she's stuck in some sort of actual ice tunnel, easily bested her and she hobbled her way back inside.]

[Kunsel breathes out in wordless relief. A sprained ankle, or even a broken one, isn't as bad as it could be. Bad enough, but not immediately life-threatening.]

Try to keep your weight off of it. Do you still have access to any of the ice? Anything you can use as a bandage?

I think I can manage to get some more. This building isn't big, I'm just inside the entrance.

[As for bandages...]

There aren't any items in here except the backpack with food I read we all start with. I'd have to use some of my own clothes.

[Kunsel winces.]

Unless you have clothing to spare... [He swears under his breath.] Clothes aren't something that are easy to come by here, and you'll need every bit of warmth you can get.

What about a belt? A purse strap? A sash? Something you could use to wrap around and give your ankle support.

No, I'm not wearing a belt. And I didn't have my purse on me when I was brought here. There's really absolutely nothing in this place--it's just a room.

[She has...a ballpoint pen. It feels too pointless to mention.]

I don't know how far the next building is. I'll try to stay positive--there could be something helpful nearby. I could get lucky.

Can you turn the video on your tablet on and let me get a look at where you are? If we can figure out where you are, we might be able to send someone to help.

Until then, do what you can to apply the ice to your ankle and try to keep it elevated.

[Amber does as she's asked--sending Kunsel a short video of the room she's in. One big empty room connected to nothing but the doorway out.]

Familiar?

[Kunsel peers at the video for several long seconds, then sets it to play again. Unfortunately, even a second playthrough doesn't help anything familiar jump out at him. He finally shakes his head and answers.]

No. Sorry.

You said you slipped on the ice. You went outside? Did you see anything there?

[The answer would just be a no, but fortunately, another conversation has given her a bit more information.]

Someone else recognized where I am. Apparently, I'm right next to a hospital. Hopefully I should be able to find something there, but I'm going to try and make it to another house first, I think here might be one closer.

[It's a small frustration that they don't have the luxury of being able to tell her to stay right where she is. Between cabin fever and her own limited supply of food and water, she can't necessarily afford to wait for help.]

If you're going to move around, see if you can find something for a crutch. I was serious about keeping your weight off your leg.
