Jesus Christ. So, wait, Watson got beat up by Bucky and then lied about it? How do you know? And Watson's okay now, right?

He was still looking pretty ready to fall over when I last saw him, so no, I wouldn't say he's okay. He'll totally try to bullshit you that he's fine when he obviously isn't, so don't fall for that. But anyway, he told me Bucky had mistaken him for an anomaly, and during that whole confrontation more or less repeated it while he was trying to calm stuff down. Bucky called him on it and said he knew what he was doing then.

By the way, I'm Charlie. Similar thing happened with me and Bucky. Watson ended up stepping in. Dude might've killed me if he hadn't.

[Though, to be fair, Charlie's neck wound springing a leak wasn't wholly Bucky's fault... But Charlie ain't got time to weigh the complexities of the situation. Point is, Bucky's dangerous.]

[Charlie rolls his eyes (EYE just the one he only has one now and it's easy to forget about now that it doesn't hurt all the time) at the mention of Charles.]

Yeah, I don't really know what's up with Bucky, but he's seriously paranoid. And so is Charles, so. Bad combo, there. Trust me, I'll try, but we're better off just hoping there won't be a next time.

[Charles, okay, so that's his name. It was getting awkward just calling him 'the other guy' in the equation.]

[He laughs without humor.]

I've been trying in my own conversation without much luck.

[He shrugs, unseen without video on.]

He's way too convinced he could have kicked Bucky's ass. But even if he were right, so what? He had an axe. You don't just beat the sense into someone with an axe; you get them pretty close to dead if you don't stop short on the way there, and the blood loss might just finish the job for you.

[Charlie nods. Ah yes, the hatchet. He shoulda swiped that from Charles before they split. He is a much more responsible hatchet wielder.]

I don't know what to tell you, man. That sounds like bad news, but Charles wouldn'ta killed Bucky. He didn't kill Beckett after the dude attacked us outta nowhere. [And wouldn't let Charlie kill him, but that's not important.] He's not like, crazy or anything. Even when he's doing stupid shit, he can keep a clear head for the most part.

Tell that to him. He's the one who said that maybe he didn't want to avoid bloodshed. Even if he wouldn't outright kill him, what's that supposed to help? You don't go out of your way to piss off the guy who's already injured other people, let alone with violence, because that's just going to cause more of the same. Blood is still blood whether the body that shed it is alive or not.

[Charlie sighs. He is so ready to defend Charles, to tell this kid that he doesn't know what he's talking about and it's none of his business anyway, but everything is so messy. And he's so tired. Ugh.

Plus he's hung up on something now.]

What was that about him not avoiding bloodshed or whatever?

I was arguing with him, trying to convince him that maybe he should learn not to escalate, to keep calm, and not wave the stupid hatchet around, because if Watson hadn't been there, it probably would have turned into an actual fight. Which, last I checked, is a pretty basic concept. But Charles was all, I can handle myself, I've been around dangerous before, and like I said—I quote—"Maybe I didn't want to avoid the bloodshed."

[His opinion of Charles isn't very high after that.]
