I - yeah. [ His voice falters. ] Tony's back again. Kind of. I just... I haven't heard back from Natasha yet, but it's fine. [ It's not. ]

It's uh, nice to hear you without the static, at least. [ A beat. ] Was it Nathan? That you're friends with.

Yes. He was... He was really good at cheering me up, you know?

[Her voice trembles a bit at the end, but she manages to get it mostly under control enough to continue.]

I'm sure Natasha will come back. You did, right?

[ Aww, no, Tifa. Clint would hug her if he could. ]

Yeah, I came back. [ He swallows hard. ] I'm really sorry, Tifa. He seemed like a good kid. Kind of - uh, well, a lot crude, but that doesn't mean anything.

You gonna be okay? Can I do anything?

It's okay, it's— You don't have to worry about me. We both lost someone, right?

[It's been two days since Aigis told him, but seeing Nathan's name in the obituaries feels like a punch to the gut all over again. And seeing Fiona's name is...well. It's tough, even if they never really spoke, even after the repairs. And then there's Cecil, which. Fuck. He just keeps on dying. He better come back soon.

Clint's message feels heartfelt, and he has to be suffering too right now.]

Hey, I'm sorry, too. You did too - lose someone.

[ He's not doing well, no. He sounds exhausted and upset when he replies, but he's just gonna keep going. ]

I did. It's okay. They'll come back.

Yeah, I'm sure they will. I'm sure they will.

[He hopes. He came back, Steph came back. Maybe Nathan will come back. Hopefully Clint's friends will come back, too. Maybe Zach can cheer him up a bit, it might even help Zach feel better.]

No. [ Might as well be honest. ] I'll get better, though.

[Zach doesn't want to hug Clint better or anything.]

I gave her information. She was kind to me. I should very much like her to come back.

Yeah. Yeah, she's - she's always been real nice to me, too. More than I deserve, I think. [ Sigh. He rubs at his neck. ] I hope she comes back too. I kind of need her around.

[She doesn't think Clint is a spy, but who knows? That's how it is with the very best spies after all.]

[ Aw, England. Clint smiles a bit when he hears the voice. ]

Probably not, but - thanks, though. I already got all my crying and screaming why at the ceiling out already so I should be okay.

I understand. [There's not much that can be done about it when someone dies.]

Hopefully they'll return. I'm sure you'll be the first to know when they're back. [This is an unfortunate mirror to when he contacted Natasha after Clint died; for some reason, though, Clint does not seem as much like the type to appreciate an estimate of how likely it is his friends will come back. That was, admittedly, much easier.]

Yeah. Yeah, definitely, they'll - if this place doesn't screw them up when they come back they'll let me know. [ He pauses, and then: ] Really, though - England? You didn't have to do the whole checking up on me thing so I just, y'know. I appreciate it. Nice of you.
