[network][open]Voice @Enoch; And again, a scream in his head (Day 162)

[The audio post begins abruptly. No introduction. No period of adjusting or testing the mic. Enoch just starts talking, sounding extremely disquieted.]

I-I'm hearing something else, under the screams. I know it sounds insane, and it may only be a hallucination or a trick, but-...

[He stops, trying to push down that uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. He's asking no one, it tells him. There's no one there to help. But there is, there has to be, all the events that happened because of Clayton's presence, because of Frisk's and Quark's and Toriel's, they had to be real.]

...but if it's not, I'll never be able to forgive myself for ignoring it. Anyone along the eastern edge of the snow wall or in the eastern tunnels, please watch out for a young girl...or her spirit, more likely. I can hear her, she's terrified, she's calling for help, for her parents... All that I know is she is farther east than we are.

Please try to help her if you see her. Wherever she is, if she is, I cannot reach her.

[There is a pause, full of ragged breathing, as Beckett tries both to parse the questions and answer them. He's tried to chase the vision and failed, and getting up to try it again is deeply wearying. He's so tired, to move for something that isn't real.]

I ca▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ her face under the cloak. She doesn't ▒▒▒▒▒ me to see her. I don't think - I don't know what ▒▒▒▒▒ wants from me.

▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ evading m▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ too fast. I'm too we▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ can do to stop her drawing. She draws the e▒▒▒▒ everywhere. It's everywhere.

No - not pain - ▒▒▒ trapping me in the ci▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ the eyes, she ▒▒ants to surrou▒▒▒▒ - can't let her ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ have to ▒▒▒▒▒▒ her stop-

[Static mixes with the noise of stumbling movement, the tablet hitting something, Beckett making a low animal sound of frightened anger.]

I can't let her trap me. [That comes in full, a horrified rasp cutting through the static.]

I can't sleep, I can't ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ in her circle. If she'll ▒▒▒▒▒▒ the▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ be no escape. This is hell. I knew this is hell -

[And Beckett, on his part, is dissolving even without the static. It's all closing in on him, all of it at once.]

I knew ▒▒▒▒ my punishment, this is all that's left, she ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ and the circle is the end - this is the end - how could I think I ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ sorry, Lucita, I'm sorry, you were ri▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ what I deserve, in the end...
