[log] Did the devil say to you, you can make it through [closed]
Characters: Steph, Zach, Al, Church, Luna, Kesara, Watson, Quark, Tifa
Location Building 58 and environs
Date: Days 157/158
Summary: A meeting of many people
Warnings: In comment headers, please!
58: A simple single-story building, the snow weighs uneasily on it, and it creaks and groans under the strain at the best of times. It's very dark, and only the kitchen and living room are intact. The kitchen has a back door. Two snowmen have been built outside. A message has been written on the wall in blue ink: "Don't wreck the snowmen! That's super mean!" "ALPHONSE ELRIC, MAMI TOMOE, FREYA CRESCENT, GREED, EDWARD ELRIC, STEPHANIE BROWN, DAY FORTY ONE, TRAVELLING EAST." has been carved into one of the walls. The following has been written on the wall in blue pen: "This is Building 95 97 on the composite map. Contact @CaptSteveRogers for details." Underneath this is a fairly accurate map showing the house in relation to the school and buildings 29, 35, 35, 37, 40, 41, 47, 48, 50, 53. House 34 is labeled "Medical assistance; hot, clean water. Contact Dr. Epps @claytonator". The school is labeled "School. Food available in cafeteria; DO NOT STAY HERE OVERNIGHT." The shed is labeled "Shed".

okay here for real this time
Too cold, too late, and too familiar to the scenario she'd found herself in only a couple days before. Luna can't help how frantic and frightened she feels as she stiffly pushes her way towards the only building in sight. She's wrapped up as best she can manage, hood puled tight around her head to hide what remains of her hair, but it doesn't help how the dark metal of her face contrast to the lightness of her clothes or how her uncovered eyes now shine red, two bright pinpricks against the snowfall.
Luck was all that had kept her away from others the last few days, and seeing Alphonse now so close to the doorway only clinches the fact. As soon as she recognizes his shape, she instantly freezes, not daring to move for fear that he's seen her.]

Bright white eyes meet red ones, and for a moment Al strikes a defensive pose as if about to get into a fight. His bulk blocks the doorway deliberately and he reaches around so he's ready to slam it shut if necessary.]
Hello out there?
[If this thing approaching doesn't answer, he'll assume it's an anomaly and slam the door.]
no subject
N-no, please--!!
[The cry is tinny and distant, like it's being spoken through a pipe. But it's still very recognizably Luna as she stumbles forwards a few steps, her arms still tightly clinging to her coat and makeshift hood.]
P-please, I'm sorry, I-- I don't... I d-don't want to stay out here...! Please--!!
no subject
Luna?!
[At least he physically can't show emotion on his face, which is also covered by a lurid pink scarf, so she can't see just how shocked he is at her appearance.]
Luna, what happened to you? Here, take my arm-- it's okay, I've got you, you're safe.
no subject
It's... it's the temperatures, I-I-- [Up close, that metallic quality of her voice clips and stutters like a poor phone connection. Her fingers curl into fists against her face, trembling hard.] I-I'm so sorry, I didn't... n-no one should see me like this, A-Alphonse...
no subject
So he breaches the rest of the distance himself and, without thinking, reaches out to try and draw her into a hug.]
Shh-- it's okay, I don't care how you look. I just care that you're hurting, come on-- hold onto me, we'll get inside and then maybe we should call the Admin. They might be able to help.
no subject
Still, she shakes her head fervently.]
No, I've... t-this has happened before and they can't... they couldn't do anything, even when medical calls was in order... it's... i-it's not an emergency.
no subject
[Poor Luna. He can't imagine any way this can't be considered an emergency. She looks like she's breaking down, even psychological issues aside.]
There's others in the house, are you going to be okay?
no subject
[She'll just have to try to hide her face as best she can once she gets inside. She doesn't want to cause a scene.]
no subject
[He thinks for a moment, before unwinding his pink scarf to reveal the horribly scarred helmet underneath.]
Here-- you can use this if you like?
no subject
[It's impossible to see where exactly she's looking like this, but from how her tone dips with empathy, it's clear she's seen how bad his helmet appears now. How long had it been, now, since that encounter with the Joker? How bad were his eyes now?
...
Her nod is hesitant, raising a hand to shakily take one end of the pink fabric.]
Thank you...
I... I don't need it for very long, if that's okay. If it's just those people inside, I just--- I only need to find a corner f-for the night.
no subject
I think they'd surprise you if you let them, but I understand if you don't want them to see you. I'll help you in any way I can.
[He stands close, trying to offer her support while she ties the scarf on.]
You need to rest, probably some food too, so just lean on me and I'll take care of it all.
