[First, Quark posts something open to the network for everyone to participate in. He filters it away from Robert Miller, though, because it would be weird for him to be watching. Not that he's too sure it'll work but...it's worth a shot.]

Hey...so I have a question. I was thinking about some of the things we learned from Mr. Miller yesterday and I wanted to know what you guys think. He mentioned that he was ordered into a cold sleep by the Admin...but I don't think he mentioned why he would've been woken up now. Isn't that kind of weird? What about all the other times there were people here before us? I guess he could've been woken up and put back to sleep over and over...but that kind of seems fishy to me, too.

[And at this point, he switches over to his fellow shadownet users.]

hey! sorry about posting that publicly since I know the admin's watching so he probably is too but i wanted everyone to see it and talk about it. That reminds me, I think we need to work harder to try and spread this out if we can. I know a couple of us got it from copycat apps. I got mine in the school. Maybe there's a common theme about where we can find them so we can hand them out and get more people able to talk to us!

I mean if he's telling the truth and he's never woken up before, then that means this session is special. But if not

I don't see why we'd be special, unless we've lasted the longest--but we were told that we're really far behind in finding the center, so it can't just be that we're doing a better job than any of them did.

[He frowns as he thinks, rubbing the back of his neck.]

I'm not really sure what or who to believe, but I think it's pretty obvious he was trying to make us doubt the things we've been told so far. At least by Winter.

Not sure exactly. I just know we're used up over half of our time already. And we only just got those two new places open...I think there's still a lot left to search.

@makeme has a point. He's either lying or has had his memory wiped. It isn't out of the question, considering everything else we know. It doesn't seem like he has all the information about what's going on, and he ranks lower than Eve. I imagine if that's the case that he may not have the clearance necessary to know about past sessions, so she may be wiping him after each failed attempt.

Do you think that's kind of harmful though? If he's just a normal human, wouldn't being frozen and unfrozen mess with his body? If it's been possibly hundreds of years, he can't have just been awake the whole time with wiped memories.

It depends. I'm not familiar with the technology here. Where I'm from, it's entirely possible, although I don't know anyone who's gone through it repeatedly for a century or more. He may have been woken up for each session, then wiped and put back under between them.

Geeze...that's creepy. I guess I could see why his memories would be wiped out, though. I mean, more than just because it's classified or anything, that would drive anyone crazy, wouldn't it?

[Quark shudders, looking almost sick to think about it.]

Maybe. This is all speculation, of course.

But the admin couldn't have been doing the same thing to herself, could she? That doesn't make sense. And if she's human, too...she'd have to have been alive this whole time.

I told Mr. Rogers, right after w- [Wait. Quark was their best friend but he was still here a while before them.] After I got here... this stuff sounds a lot like Resets.

[They hesitate. They still aren't sure how open they're really ready to be about all this.]

Most'a the time, um... only the person doing the Resets would remember what happened. Maybe he has been waking up over and over, but he doesn't remember it, just like we don't remember anything happening before.

So...you think that no time's actually been passing at all, since everything's been set back to the way it was before the previous session failed?

[He frowns to himself as he thinks about it. That would explain a few things, maybe...]

But if the person behind all of this could do something like that, wouldn't they just...go back to before everyone died?

Um... maybe this is kinda silly but um... [They stop just short of saying "I"] When... somebody who could Reset found out they could, they couldn't go back any further than when they first found out.

So... maybe it's not a person, maybe it's something the town can do, or something like that. But it's got a start point, and maybe they didn't think to make the start point until after everything happened.

[Or the person who could do Resets didn't gain the ability until the last person, or whoever or whatever controlled them previously, died or was destroyed. So they couldn't go back that far.]

I suppose it's possible he was woken up as a last resort when the Admin's resources deteriorated past the point that she could manage it herself.

Don't apologize. That was smart to post something to create chatter to cover for us, especially since Miller and the Admin are probably looking for this now.

My group is in one of the new areas we just unlocked. We're keeping an eye out for anything we might find, especially any SD cards, but I think exploring this area should be my first priority right now, rather than backtracking to places we've been before. Maybe we could ask someone closer to the school to take a look, or whatever other places there are?

Enoch found a copy program once. Is anyone with him right now who could ask where he got it? Or does anyone already know?

We really have little knowledge of what the previous sessions did or did not manage to accomplish - or destroy. But I would not be surprised if Mr. Miller is subject to the admin's control in this way, including tampering with his memories. His smugness was rather the defensive sort.

[Kunsel's got no problem with hearing out Beckett's theories. As far as he's concerned, the primary purpose here is to distract Miller and the Admin from the shadownet conversation going on underneath.]

Could be the smugness of someone who woke up to see the state the town is in and thinks he could do better in our place.

Possible, though it was rather obvious that he is either missing some crucial knowledge, or afraid of discussing it. I noticed he didn't mention anything regarding oceans or dreams.

Sorry, I didn't have any of the dreams that everyone else had. I only know what people have mentioned about what they saw.

Perhaps he wasn't prompted with the right question. But it seems to me undeniable, at this point, that there is some entity resident, trapped in, or otherwise extant in the town, whose scope and power go far beyond any of the sides Winter or our Mr. Miller represent or claim to. It's curious that neither of them has displayed any awareness or knowledge of it.

Winter claims she's an AI that only responds to given stimuli. It's possible we just simply haven't asked the right question to get her to admit knowledge of such a thing. Or it's possible she's not aware of it at all. She is an outsider to Norfinbury. Miller...

Well, he's not exactly forthcoming in general. His silence may be deliberate.

Isn't there a card copy machine in the school, too?? The one that needs ID?
Iunno if it actually works, since... I don't *have* ID. Or know anyone who does. Worth bearing in mind, though? Maybe??

@totheark had an ID card of some sort a little while ago, though I'm not sure if it's still in his possession or who it originally belonged to.

[As someone who has been put into cold storage and woken up time and again, this all hits far too close to home. It's put him even further on edge than he had been before now, and he was pretty far on edge already.
