A standard two-story house with an attic. The first floor has a kitchen, living room, and dining room, while the second floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The entire house has been done up inside in Victorian style--it probably cost quite a lot of money, and no detail is spared. The color scheme is a bit dark, though, and it's difficult to see in here during the night. "ALPHONSE ELRIC, DAY EIGHT, TRAVELLING EAST" and "ALPHONSE ELRIC, STEPH BROWN, MAMI TOMOE, FREYA CRESCENT, EDWARD ELRIC, DAY TWENTY-FOUR, TRAVELLING WEST" have been carved into the hallway wall. "ALPHONSE ELRIC, EDWARD ELRIC, GREED, DAY SEVENTY-FIVE, TRAVELLING SOUTH-WEST. DEAR FORMER RESIDENT, WE ARE FRIENDS, PLEASE DO NOT FEEL YOU NEED TO HIDE FROM US. CONTACT LELRIC." has been written on the wall. Written on the wall in blue ink is the following: "This is Building 80 on the composite map. Contact @CaptSteveRogers for details." Underneath is a pretty accurate map showing the house in relation to the south and west snow walls, the school and athletic shed, the funeral home, and buildings 34, 35, 37, 39, 40, 41, 46, 47, 48, 49, 53, 57, 58, and 59. The snow wall is labeled "Snow wall." House 58 is labeled "Entrance to ice tunnels." The school is labeled "School. Food available in cafeteria; DO NOT STAY HERE OVERNIGHT." The athletic shed is labeled "Shed". The funeral home is labeled "UNSAFE; DO NOT STAY HERE OVERNIGHT." House 34 is labeled "Medical assistance; hot, clean water. Contact Dr. Epps @claytonator".

I sent one to Kunsel. [ He sounds vaguely annoyed by this. ]

[devoutish]

Did you.

[What's your point, Royce? He's listening.]

[bywolves]

Our conversation was aggressively polite. [ Passive aggressive. You mean. ]

What do you think of him? [ This is going somewhere. Mostly in the 'I don't like him' direction. ]

[devoutish]

[Picturing Royce being aggressively polite is pretty amusing to Alfie, honestly.]

I'd like to hear what he's got to say about ShinRa.

[He assumes he'll be less than impressed.]

[bywolves]

Tifa's told me about what he's got to say about ShinRa. [ And Royce was not a fan. ] He reads a lot into what I say to him. Assumes things and tries to one-up me with those assumptions.

[devoutish]

Tifa's told me, too.

[But he's interested in how Kunsel would talk about it. It's usually telling.]

What did he say to you?

[bywolves]

[ Royce scrolls through his tablet and shows Alfie his conversation. It isn't nearly as bad as anything Royce has run into here, but he's still annoyed by it. He's not a fan of being told how he feels or what he's actually doing. ]

He was worse the first time I spoke to him. [ Sniff. ] I don't like obsessive information gatherers.

[devoutish]

[Alfie gets about five comments in, then looks up at Royce.]

He's trying to get a rise out of you. He isn't being serious.

[bywolves]

It's annoying. [ He sounds annoyed. ] I don't understand why people here find it so fun to try and provoke me.

[devoutish]

Because you react. Don't react, and they won't bother. They're like little boys pulling the girls' pigtails in school, because they think it's funny when they shriek.

[bywolves]

I don't react. [ Scowl. As an afterthought: ] House doesn't count. That was different.

[devoutish]

You argue back. Don't fucking bother. You're not gonna be able to convince them to change their minds, because they don't actually believe it in the first place. He knows very well what he's saying isn't true, yeah? He says as much later on, just down there.

[He gestures vaguely at the screen.]

[bywolves]

Text is difficult for me. [ Royce says instead, scowling at the floor. He means tone wise - he probably would've handled it better if he had a voice to work with. ] I avoid him mostly in any case.

[devoutish]

Yeah.

[There's a reason Alfie always tries to talk people into switching to audio or video.]

But all those people who tease you, right. House, Fiona, Nathan. They like getting rises out of people. They've got that in common.

[bywolves]

House was different. [ Royce is insistent on that. That was - not the same. That was worse. ]

This is why I'd rather just not talk to anybody.

[devoutish]

I don't mean House at his worst.

[bywolves]

He is always at his worst.

[devoutish]

Some times, he is worse than others.

[bywolves]

[ Royce makes another annoyed sound and curls down into his blankets again. ] Every time we talk about House, he wins a little more.

[devoutish]

[Alfie grunts. He doesn't really agree, but he gets why Royce doesn't want to talk about him.]
