[network/video] @baelfire; day 011, morning [open] [cw: character death]
[ the video opens shakily, the boy's face a little puffy and red, dark rings under his eyes like he hasn't slept over night. he's not entirely meant to turn the video on but he doesn't hustle to change it, either. it's early, maybe too early for most people to be up, he thinks. ]
What happens when someone dies? I... I have seen so many people come back, but how will we know if they will?
[ his voice comes out a little steadier than he'd thought it would, honestly. he takes a deep breath. ] How long did everyone have to wait before they came back? I... I think I'd just like to know.
And if they don't come back, what do you do then? How do you even get to say goodbye somewhere like this? Is there absolutely no way out when the doors are locked? When someone gets--
[ another deep breath. ]
Sorry.

[ how can he not feel guilty? how can he turn around and think that he didnt play some role in this? perhaps had he forgiven him, had he tried to reach out sooner, Hook would have at least died more hopeful than he did. instead, it was apologies and regrets and so much more.
when he thinks about it like this, he realizes just how similar he and his father are. that perhaps it is better this way. ]
Maybe he will. I hope he will. [ he shrugs a little bit and looks back at the camera. ]
If he... he comes back, I'll try to be better. I don't like fighting, I don't like it at all.

[There's no need to be better, even if Tink could do without the fighting. The issue isn't how Baelfire reacted to Hook's betrayal, but to Hook's ability to betray him. That's a trust he has to earn, if he gets the chance to. She hopes that he will, though Tink has also worried that they won't have the chance to make peace here.
It's not a very peaceful place. If they get a second chance, they'll have to be careful with it.]
I don't like fighting, but I know that trust takes time. You always do your best, that's enough for me.
[It was enough for Hook, she just can't bring herself to say it.]

I'm glad you're here, Tinker Bell.
[ there's so much relief in that young voice and he looks up to the screen, a tiny bit more hope in his expression now. ] I... you're right. I'll try harder and... and wake up tomorrow with a better attitude. I promise. I just wish things weren't so scary here.

[She doesn't know what would have become of her if he hadn't been around. It's not just having to take care of him; Tink does feel like she needs to be the adult, but she also feels that he takes care of her, too.]
I wish things weren't so frightening, but we'll manage.

[ one way or another, he found the Darlings, he found Hook (though the love is questionable), he found Tinker Bell -- in the dark places he visits, the worlds he's thrown into? he always finds his home in the people he meets. ]
I just know it.

[She wants better for him. This isn't a place for a child, it's as bad as Neverland. He tends to jump from one thing to the next, and it's always something worse. Why can't he have something better, for once?]
A way back to how things are supposed to be.
