[network] @dickcheese, Day 130, video [open, cw talk of lobotomies]
Who's in the mood for another session of Weird Shit I Saw Underground?? If you said no, w-well. Too bad.
[ Rhys is decked out in his yellow ducky bathrobe. One sleeve is pitifully empty, drooping off what remains of his shoulder. At least it looks relatively comfy? ]
Though, okay, I guess I didn't technically see the shit myself. Jack did. [ There is a pause as his jaw clenches for just a moment; he's clearly far from being on remotely good terms with the hologram, but information is information. ] He was looking through one of the maze walls, and it wasn't a maze. Er. [ That's not exactly clear. His big ol' brows furrow. ] He said he saw an abandoned, messed-up room. It was metallic, ripped apart, and leaking water everywhere. Aaaaand on top of that, everyone was moving, like, really really fast? It was -- his phrasing, not mine -- "some kind of whacked out illusion. Iunno. Only lasted, like, a second though."
Sooooo. Discuss??
A-also, second bit of business. Second... kind of super important bit of business I really really should've gotten out before. Can you blame me, though?? Stuff was kind of nuts, a--
[ DEEP BREATH. The rambling is getting out of control. ]
--aaaaanyway. Dr. Stitches. Stein. Eighty foot tall psycho guy? Yeah.
He likes performing lobotomies on people. When they don't actually want one.
Yeah.

...Forgive my ignorance, but what is a lobotomy?
[It sounds like removing something? But what? It would help if he knew the brain's actual function, too. His thoughts and identity empirically come from his soul, in his own world, but he believes the soul to be anchored to the heart.]

kinda got the illusion thing when all you kids wound up suddenly in the same place, though
interesting about the movements
might've been overlaying perceptions through the network onto everyone down there along with out tablets

Bumped into him once.
[And heard about what happened from Watson and then Stein. Good times.]
Sounds pretty interesting what Jack saw.
Ripped apart, metallic and leaking water every where.
He couldn't see any doors or anything like that?
@dickcheese, audio;
[ Shivershudder. ]
As for Jack, n-no -- but he only had a second before everything shifted.

When did he look through the maze wall? Which maze?

@Kid, Audio...then Video
Rest assured that this most recent revelation about his professor on the open network certainly qualifies as stressful. Which is why Rhy's initial response is a nearly-shrieked:] He did what?!
[But give Kid a minute or two, and he'll have composed himself and managed to get himself away from the illustrious and now infamous Dr. Stitches himself, tucked into the back of the building and well away from his traveling partner.
Franken Stein. Yeah. Kid, may well be an embodiment of order, finds Stein's incredible distaste for the concept absolutely maddening. When the video turns on, it's obvious that he's sitting in a corner but facing the room so he can't be snuck up behind, tense and on edge. For someone whose features suggest they are quite young, his tone is somber and mature as he addresses Rhys again.] My apologies for a few moments ago.
[What do you say to this? "We were under the impression that Dr. Stein had those 'unusual impulses' under control?" Maybe "My Father likes him so he decided not to kill him" would sound better, but Kid didn't think that was in particularly good taste. There's always "He vivisected his own Weapon partner in the past, but that was over a decade ago!" but that sounds far too much like his father and not particularly helpful either. Personally, Kid is inclined towards "I have no idea why my Father has tolerated his behavior for the last thirty years," though that does nothing to solve the problem.]
I am very sorry Dr. Stein did that to you. Such behavior is unacceptable. [His shoulders sink, a small frown on his face. His gold eyes slide away from the screen, refusing to meet Rhys' eyes.]
@dickcheese, video;
[ There's an obvious degree of familiarity here, when Kid speaks of Dr. Shithead. That initial outburst, the kiddishness (hahaha) of his appearance, and what Steph said...
Hm. HMM INDEED.
The lopsided man hesitates before responding. Just a bit. ]
It's not your fault, dude. Not at all.
