Ask me again if we're not out of here in a day or two, eh? I still haven't got any food.

And I did not like the sound of that announcement.

Well, that makes four of us. We'll do everything we can to keep you and the rest of the people in our group safe and fix this just as fast as we can, all right?

[Why, yes, he is offering reassurance to the man he was threatening to break the arm of and stab in the eye last night. Circumstances change things. Alfie is now part of the group he's fighting for.]

Yeah, of course, mate. I trust you.

[He totally does not, but he at least doesn't think Watson is going to purposefully screw him - much less anyone else - over right now.]

Have you heard from Frisk's mum yet?

[He keeps his tone light and offhand for Frisk's benefit, not wanting to make it seem like a cause for concern if they haven't.]

[Alfie may be able to see the small roll of John's eyes on screen at the mention of trust. He does sober, though.]

You're the first one we've heard from. I think we might be a bit cut off from each other. There were more of us down here, but they've all disappeared.

Well, I can tell you we're safe up here - stuck in houses, away from anomalies and the worst of the cold. I would wager that Frisk's mum is right where she left her.

[Uncle Alfie. John is a little annoyed that he's grateful.]

You did hear the part about how what you do will affect the other groups, yeah?

Since we can't see 'em.., we gotta trust they're doing okay. Like Dr. Watson said.

[They're actually putting on a decent show of bravado, with only the faintest tremor in their ha ands and the careful blankness of their expression giving away how unsettled they actually are.]

I talked to-- oh, ten people this morning, yeah; something like that. All of 'em were safe in houses.

We were downtown, at the library. I guess... Maybe she's in a different group?

[They're more than a little hesitant, still concerned about what that first guy had said. But... They can do this right? And like Dr. Watson said, they just... Gotta trust that everyone else is doing okay too. They gotta.]

We'll do everything we can.

[devoutish]

I'll give her a ring, yeah? We can talk to the others out here.

[Except they can't anymore, but he doesn't know that.]

Thank you so much! Let her know I'm okay too. [a beat] She's probably really worried.

[And so he goes off to do that. But a few minutes later, he's back with bad news.]

Can't reach her, or anyone else I tried. The network seems to be limited, today.
