[They might've missed it, if they hadn't been watching for something exactly like this. Watching and hoping. Even so they fumble with the tablet so fast that it slips out of their hands and falls to the ground. The first thing the video picks up is snow, and Frisk's glove wiping it off.]

Mom- [And the tears are back, but this time, there's so much relief there.] Mom you're back? You're okay?

[Toriel is quick to switch to video, gaze sweeping across Frisk's face to make sure they're okay. Relief is palatable on her features. She opens her mouth to speak. Only find she can't.

She mimes at Frisk with her hand touching her throat uncertainly.]

[It takes a second or two to connect the dots. Why wasn't she saying anything. Why was she pointing at- oh! They wipe at their face quickly.]

[Toriel nods slowly, decently unsure herself beyond the fact she cannot speak. Her hand drops from her throat uncertainly, miming at Frisk a silent question of whether they're alright.

Toriel will switch to text soon enough, but she wants to see Frisk, even if she cannot speak with them normally.]

[Frisk will keep the camera on even if Toriel switches to text. There's no reason not to, really.]

Yeah, I'm... [They take a deep shuddering breath, and break into what feels like the first real smile in an age.] I'm okay.

[She reluctantly shifts to text.]
Good. I am glad of that. I was worried about you and Yukio.

Have you gotten more supplies? Have you eaten yet? You're a growing child, you need to eat.

[Frisk nods, the grin widening at her mother henning at them. Things could go back to almost normal so quickly.] Yeah, we got food already. We're gonna get some more tomorrow.

Um... where are you?

Thank goodness. You know I worry about you eating properly, young one.

I was in some animal building, now I am making my way to a large house that looks similar to an A.

[She briefly switches back to camera, waving at Frisk before redirecting the tablet towards the house she's heading towards. Toriel lets it play for a bit to give Frisk a proper look before it turns off.]

[Animal building? Frisk isn't sure whether they should be offended on her behalf or not.]

Oh, a triangle house! [Frisk tilts their head a little wondering if it's the one that they woke up in a week or two ago. It doesn't look like it... Hm...]

You're near one of the walls, right?

Yes. I am near a wall. It is the nearest building, near to where I think I arrived here originally. I am unsure at the moment.

[There is some fumbling again before the camera clicks on, showing the where she is to her child. She only turns briefly to show Frisk where she came from, the vets office looms in the distance.]

Toriel! Oh thank God.

[IMMENSE RELIEF.]

The kids are with me and Peggy at the moment, we're headed to the school to get them some more supplies. ...Frisk sure is relieved to hear from you. So am I, for that matter. [He smiles, looking like a weight's been lifted off his shoulders.]

Shiro's back too, but he's across town; he revived in the chapel. Where are you?

Steve! You do not know how relieved I am that you and Peggy found the children. After what happened, I wasn't sure where they were or who they would run into.

I awoke in some animal building? There were murals to cats and dogs on the walls. Along with cages in another room. I am making my way to another building now.

I missed Frisk's post, I feel terrible about it, but I messaged them when the obituary went up. Lucky the kids were close by, although I wish I'd seen it sooner, we could've met with them faster. They've been fed, and we've been doing our best to look after them. They're doing much better now that you're both back.

[Steve is puzzled.]

An animal building? That's strange... hasn't everyone woken up in the chapel, the hospital, or the funeral home before? Always someplace with a morgue.

[He frowns. What would cause the pattern to change? After a moment the bit about the cages clicks. There's a veterinary hospital on the map, isn't there? ...He flushes. Oh God, they brought her to the veterinary hospital?? He's suddenly embarrassed and even a little offended on her behalf.]

Toriel, I think you may have woken up in the veterinary hospital. It's on House's composite map, in the southeast corner of the residential area. I think you would've been in sight of both the south and east snow walls, is that right?

Frisk has mentioned as much, which I am relieved for. I am glad the children found you and Peggy. I know you will keep them safe.

Veterinary Hospital? I suppose they care for animals there? Odd.

I believe so- give me a moment. [She turns on the tablets camera, offering Steve a small wave of greeting before turning it to her surroundings, confirming his guess.]

We will, I promise. Yes, it's where people take their pets for medical care. ...I don't think anyone's ever revived there before. I'm sorry, I think whatever machinery runs this place must've mistaken you for an animal. Which is rude. But I suppose a system designed for humans wouldn't know any better.

[Steve smiles to see her, even though she can't see it.]

Excellent news. I assume you'll want to be reunited with Frisk as soon as possible? We can head south and east to the snow wall once we've resupplied. If you just head due west along the wall, we should be able to meet up easily. Might take a little while in this weather, but we do what we can with what we've got, right?

I see. I am going to assume for my own prides sake it was simply a new way of revival opening up. Opposed to an assumption of what I am.

We were all very distracted? I cannot describe it properly beyond that, we lost track of where we were and nearly missed lockdown. Shrio and myself pushed the children to safety and were stuck outside.

[He could have had the same fate - it took all the travel he could manage to reach the house he reached that day, and it was only his single-minded hunger that pushed him through the nagging of everything, of the visions of death, anomaly attacks, and the unsettling feeling of not even knowing his home anymore...had he met this person there or had he been alone, had this enemy said something to him or had they been silent, what was real and what was fake...]

I'm glad they were safe, in the end. Has Frisk contacted you yet? I've spoken with them, but they never told me where they were.

Frisk has contacted me as has Yukio.

Both are with Steve and Peggy now thankfully. They are safe, there is nothing that makes me happier than that. I would not be sure what to feel if both children were alone.

These have not been very good days for any of us, I'm afraid. I'm glad we're all still alive.

It is good that you are back. Frisk was very unhappy.
