[log] Just Gotta Get Out [closed]
Characters: House, Al, Joker, Steve, Jade, and Rhys/holo!Jack
Location E15 - Building 130 (the Pharmacy)
Date: Day 097, Evening and through the Night
Summary: A very unlikely group of people get stuck in a building together for the night. At least least four of them have a decently good reason to want to punch one of the others.
Warnings: All warnings that come along with Joker, House, and holo!Handsome Jack
[One could say that the Norfinbury Hospital Pharmacy is one that's decently-sized. It must have once also had a small section for food, but the shelves are empty now save what few items can be found. Occasionally there's even medicine. Of course, to say that it's decently-sized is considering that usually only two or three people are in it at a time. Six is pushing the limit, especially six people who really don't have any business being in each other's vicinity.
Al is the first one there, taking the day to investigate his new surroundings, but the others trickle in slowly, some more worn than others from a long march.]

[ It's a snap, a snap he was trying to avoid. It's that Rhysie. Rhysie, Rhysie, Rhysie. Little grates on him as much as that.
He moves purposefully and deliberately past House, on his way to an unoccupied corner. If such a thing exists.
But Jack has other ideas. Jack forces the cyber hand to go for House's cane as Rhys passes by. ]
no subject
Sorta using that, dude.
no subject
[ He wants nothing to do with House, despite the nickname needling. He desperately wills his prosthetic hand to let go. Jack's hold, however, is too strong.
And he tugs. Violently. ]
no subject
The jolt, unfortunately, sends his house of vents crashing over with a noise that's sure to draw every bit of attention their way. ]
Jesus Christ!
no subject
Woah--
[ His instincts lead him to discard the cane and try to hold House up by the shoulder. Rhys is not observant enough to notice any suspicious movements, but, uh. The man who only can observe?
Yeah. That sure was something.
The cyber hand on House's shoulder moves up to his neck. The fingers can't "feel" a pulse, but Jack almost -- ALMOST feels it as he forces the grip tight. ]
no subject
What the he-uck!?
[ Well, it's every man for himself. One of House's hands reaches up for the robot arm, but the other flails wildly for a vent on the counter. He grabs it and swings it up at the side of Rhys' head. ]
no subject
[ There is a brief moment of success as he forces his fingers free of House's throat. Which is unfortunate because it is at that exact moment he sees the vent approaching his face, and he turns his head
just
so
it collides with the sensitive little circle of metal leading into his skull.
It's like hitting a light switch. Down Rhys goes, blood leaking from his port as his face connects with the floor. ]
no subject
God damn...
[ They need to take care of the psychopath arm, but he's pretty sure he just slammed that vent somewhere that he shouldn't have and the hero brigade is going to be on them in about two seconds. He drops to one knee and pulls out his penlight, trying to get a look at whatever it is he'd hit. That hadn't felt like connecting with flesh or skull. ]
Fucking Jack.
no subject
All is secondary, though, when his eyes open. Electric blue flickers a bright yellow and the limp man suddenly jolts upright, both hands going to House's neck. ]
Language.

Suffice it to say, it's probably not the most effective punch in the history of punches. The rest of Rhys' face is there for hitting, though, even if House doesn't manage to get the port. Maybe.
While the punching thing happens, House's other hand is prying at the flesh fingers as best they can. Because those he might actually have a chance with as he struggles. ]
no subject
Still, he's heard about this supposed AI on the Network and seeing it in action is, well, wonderfully informative.]

[Al had been in another room doing some investigation, but he's drawn back by the sound of fighting.
He rushes over at once to attempt to grab Rhys and pull him backwards bodily. He'll be attempting to use one arm to wrap around his waist and the other to chop downwards over both arms to try and break that grip.]
What's going on? Let go! Rhys!
[Seriously? He knows House is annoying, but--]
no subject
[ He's kind of sort of preoccupied with trying to avoid getting clocked in the face to notice Al until he is on top of him. He succeeds in deflecting House's blows with Rhys' flesh arm but fails to do anything about the giant metal teenage lifting him up.
He brings said flesh arm to protect the robotic one that's still gripping (and now kind of crushing) House's throat. This is painful, but it works -- that death grip is still intact. ]
Let -- go, Tinny!
no subject
He latches onto the wrist of the robotic arm with both hands and jerks backward, trying to break free. If that doesn't actually work... well, his efforts are going to be getting weaker as he loses consciousness. ]
no subject
Rhys, I said let go! Now! You're killing him!
[He groans in frustration before he goes in for a proper attack, just as Izumi taught him. Rhys will forgive him later. And even if he doesn't, it will be worth it to save a life.
So he sweeps one leg around to attempt to knock Rhys' legs out from underneath him while simultaneously slamming his hand towards Rhys' face with every ounce of strength and force he can manage.]
no subject
[ He's trying his damndest to finish the throttling, increasing the pressure as much as he can. And then he's on the ground. The robot arm finally releases, and "Rhys" attempts to scramble to his feet, cursing his awkwardly long, spindly limbs.
And. Oh. That sure is a metal hand coming at his head. ]
Oh, hell.
[ There is absolutely no time or space to dodge that, so he brings up both arms to protect the face (because even though it's not his face, it's still instictual to protect it!!), which. May have been an even worse decision. Metal on metal and metal on flesh, and Rhys' body goes flying back almost comically, ragdolling as Jack is violently tossed from the driver's seat.
Lame. ]

Ad... min. Call.
[ There are other people here. They can call the goddamn healbots because while he could reasonably deal with Beckett's injuries - sort of - a crushed trachea isn't something he can just splint. Not to mention that cracked headport thing. House doesn't know what they can do about that if the Admin doesn't fix it for Rhys. ]
no subject
R-Right!
[He fumbles his tablet even as he drops to his knees beside House and does his best to wipe the blood from his lips carefully.]
Hey! [He catches sight of Jade out of the corner of his eye and calls over to her urgently.] Call for help, I'm not sure what I can do here.
no subject
[ Oh. ]
[ Well, shit. ]
[ Without spacey witch powers, there's not much she can do; she already has her tablet out when Al tells her to get help. ]
@admin requesting medical assistance!! two people are very seriously injured
also some robotic body parts were damaged, if you use different spiders to fix that kind of thing
no subject
[Nothing will happen to Rhys. House, meanwhile, will feel a sharp sting somewhere on his back. He will be unable to move and unable to feel pain, although he will still be able to feel the bizarre sensation of his trachea almost popping back into the right shape. Any bruising disappears before the eyes of anyone watching. This entire process takes only a few minutes, though House will remain unable to move for fifteen minutes.]
no subject
[That bark of laughter comes from the Joker. He walks up and stands over House, arms folded over his chest. He waits to see one of these legendary healing robots but none come.
When it becomes apparent that there will be no robot sightings today he sighs. Disappointing.
Oh well.
He turns attention to Rhys, walking over to the young man's prone form.]
Hey, kiddo.
Hanging in there? C'mon, get up, the tin can didn't hit ya that hard.
no subject
He actually saved someone. He actually made a difference here. That's going to bolster him through the hard times for a long time to come.
But something isn't right--]
What's happening? Why isn't Rhys getting any better?
[He takes his own coat and puts it under House's head for comfort before pushing to his feet and coming to stand next to the Joker to look down on Rhys, concern colouring his voice.]
I didn't mean to hurt him so badly. Why aren't they fixing him?!

[Rhys will feel a sharp pain somewhere on his back. He will lose the ability to feel pain and be unable to move while his body seems to repair itself. Fixing basic, organic things is easy, but the flesh seems to stutter and tremble around Rhys's robotic parts. Eventually, however, they begin to repair themselves, as well, fitting themselves back into place. The flesh spiderwebs and clings like tendrils at the edges where metal meets skin, and it remains that way. Rhys will remain paralyzed for fifteen minutes before it wears off.]
