The bird's alive!

[ The camera bounces a lot, but finally manages to focus on the sparrow currently perched on Raoul's head, preening him and scolding with her high-pitched tweets. Raoul has a ridiculous grin on his face, which he occasionally attempts to school into something more dignified, but it always managed to slip back into the ridiculous. ]

My apologies. I keep forgetting you folks use this tablet thing socially. But I found this little fluff-ball in the snow today, and I thought her friends might want to know she's alright.

[ Yes, the bird has friends. Are you really surprised? ]

[This was... some sorely needed good news. Frisk's been on pins and needles all day, what with the post earlier (even if they didn't see it), Jack's threat, worring about Mom and Sans, going to find Quark...

A moment later their face falls from the smile into something a bit more stern. Without even really thinking about it, they're emulating Toriel a bit.]

Tell her she's not allowed to go into any more vents!

[ Raoul laughs, and tries to get a hand between the bird and his hair. She hops onto his hand, just 'cause. ]

You heard the man. You're off the duty roster, Cory. You already died honorably in the line of duty. You only get once.

[They're really glad she's safe. They're also glad he's taking what they said to heart. Although, um...]

I'm just a kid though.

Was it previously not alive?

She was. I don't suppose she'll be on the obituary, being a bird.

But she did come back to life. Either the resurrection effects that occur for people are indiscriminate and affect all living things in this area, or the sparrow was deemed significant by whatever is responsible.

It's hard to believe a little birdie might be considered important. Then again, most of this is hard to believe.

Have you seen any other living thing here that is not a person?

Well, that's hard to say. I've met quite a few people that weren't human, and quite a few humans I'd hesitate to call people.

You are used to humans where you come from?

I mean to ask whether there are animals here.

Most of the people are human where I'm from.

I think I heard about a cat.

The invisible cat?

The fat one. I believe it's travelling with Zell and them.

I did not know there was a solid cat.
If those are all, it is not only the people who are missing from this place. There should be wildlife.

I believe one of those guides mentioned that, actually. No tracks, nothing.

It is not very difficult for a settlement to disappear.

It is very difficult for an area to be completely and permanently cleared of native life.

Depends on who does the clearing. Animals can sense bad magic, and they stay away from it.

It would have to be very bad magic. I only know one place animals will not go, and it is a very evil place.
