[Dorian has his tablet set up on a pew to show him sitting where he's leaning against the altar in the chapel. He smiles in a friendly way and gives the tablet a little wave. His appearance shows signs of grooming and he's grown a small beard since he arrived.]

Manaveris! How is everyone? I am more alive than previously anticipated.

I'm afraid I don't know this building or the surroundings but I'm sure that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

But enough about me. How are the rest of you? Is there anyone nearby? This place is rather lonely.

Looks like you're in a church. Chapel? To be honest, I ain't ever really learned the diff'rence if there is one. We ain't over there just yet.

Are you sure it isn't a Chantry? It looks like a Chantry. Not like the ones in my homeland but some of the more moderately sized towns in the south have ones much likes this.

I'm not sure we've spoken before.

[The clown gives an awkward sort of curtsy in return, showing that she has only ever see people do so on TV and hadn't actually considered the logistics of the move until just now. She's also not even wearing a dress so she just kinda pulls at the sides of her jacket.]

Doctor Harleen of House Quinzel, previously of Gotham. [Did she do that right? She just wants to sound fancy too.] But everyone calls me Harley.

Meeting people of learning is always a pleasure, Doctor Quinzel. Well, not quite always but it usually manages to be interesting at a minimum. Maker save me from boredom.

What did you study?

[She raises her arms up in a triumphant ta-da pose! Applause? Nailed it.]

Psychiatry. But you'll hafta educate me on what a magister does. I don't think we got any of those where I'm from.

We make pompous speeches and plot elaborate murder schemes and attend parties where we pretend we don't despise one another. Occasionally we all get together in something we call the Magisterium and vote on legislation and make more pompous speeches.

There are a few Magisters who get bored of it and run off into the countryside to conduct experiments. Every so often a few of us try to change our country for the better. Even more rarely, sometimes we have a shot at succeeding! I hate it all but I think I may be rather good at it.

What is psychiatry?

Psychiatry is a medical practice focusing on the study, diagnosis, and treatment of mental disorders. I specialized in working with the criminally insane. [Her voice changes as she speaks of it, her accent becoming much milder and her tone more even. But then she reverts right back.] That like was a long time ago, though.

Didja get a chance to change your country before gettin' stuck here?

I wandered into the snow and got lost. It was bound to happen eventually. I'm not very good at this adventuring on my own.

He sighs.

I miss traveling with you.

Yes! Your idealism is refreshing and I may sound like I'm laughing at you but I admire your desire to try to make things better.

[Dorian is just stating facts because he sees no reason not to.]

I'm less sure about traveling with vermin themed characters but willing.

You're a new face, yes? Dorian of House Pavus, lately of Minrathous. And you're a librarian! Those command great respect in my homeland. If you have access to anything terribly powerful or fashionable you could make a fortune in bribes.

[Dorian doesn't sound put off by this idea.]

[He's very happy that there are some worlds out there where his profession is respected but the second part gives him pause.]

So the librarians where you come from, they have... access to terribly powerful things? [Because that sounds a lot like his Library and, being the newface that he is he hasn't given up the self-centered hope that maybe, maybe all this is connected to his world somehow.]

Grand Library? That sounds like a place I want to visit.

Naturally. Genealogies, diaries written by influential ancestors. The occasional tome on someone's old experiments. But really, the ones with political value are worth the most.

Yes, those are... valuable. It doesn't exactly speak for your librarians if they trade with them, though...

How do they make sure they keep their collections intact if anyone can come in? ...Oh.

[Dorian flaps a hand to wave the idea off.]

Librarians control access where I'm from. Items have been known to disappear and reappear i a private collection or disappear from one private collection to appear in another but those are a very different transaction.

Sending gifts to librarians to have access to or copies from books is commonplace, an accepted practice. As is paying larger amounts to receive them more quickly.

[Dorian shrugs. It's just how things work in Tevinter.]

You'll want to leave that building before it's too late to travel, this place doesn't approve of us loitering in the places we can revive. Has anyone given you a direction to travel yet? Any direction but due west ought to lead you to a building you can shelter in.

It does. It's certainly happened to me a few times. [Buuut...maybe he should warn him more specifically about the graveyard. He doesn't want Dorian to die again...] The graveyard is just north of the chapel but there's nowhere there to stay. If you'd like to explore it, feel free, but I would find stable shelter first.
