So...

[ It is after lockdown and Steph looks flushed, both with cold and delight. She's sitting outside the locked door to the post office. She doesn't know quite what to say for a moment. She probably should have waited until she had that figured out to make this post. ]

So, I think we all know what happens next. And I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I took a chance, and I know that this doesn't just affect me.

[ She tries to keep a straight face, but she can't help a grin at the memory of skateboarding through frickin ice stalagmites in a life or death race against time. ]

But I also want to say that it was totally worth it. Turns out it takes most of the day to get through the tunnels to the post office, even on a skateboard. And it was completely awesome. If there's a way to win at dying, I'm pretty sure I just did it. So take that, Snowhell.

[After a lot of cursing and yelling, he'll talk to her. Don't mind him sounding exhausted and his voice sounding like crap.]

Yo, Steph. [Swallowing hard.] Where did you even find a skateboard? That's pretty cool.

[ She can't really hold it against him. She'd do the same, in his place. ]

In the shed by the school. It was a lucky find, in great condition. I rode it some through the school and the hospital.

Whoa. I found one of those scooters there before. I'm pretty sure I left it at the school. [A skateboard is much cooler though!]

You know what I wanted to do? Take some mattresses from the hospital beds and go down the stairs with them. [sounds like a good idea, right?]

[ She chokes on a giggle. ]

I did that on a sled once, the cheap round kind, made of plastic. You have to get the angle just right, or it won't move.

Oh man, that sounds pretty cool. Been thinking of using wax to see if it'll help. Oh! I have dish soap. I can use that on the grocery store's floor to see if I can slide around.

[He doesn't have a board though, but maybe he can find a basket or cart.] I'll let you know how it'll goes.

[Even if she might not come back...]

Make sure you use plenty of water. Ever heard of a slip'n'slide? It'll make a heck of a mess, but who really cares about that?

Yeah! If anything, it'll be helping them clean the floors, right?

[ She chuckles and shakes her head. ]

Sure, why not? There's definitely no chance that you'll end up knocking things over or smearing dirt and other things around.

No chance at all, man. If I do knock anything over, I can leave a note saying Zack did it.

[He wouldn't. The noogie he would get from it isn't worth it.]

Make sure you do it so the cameras can see. At least half of the surveillance footage from this place should be hilarious.

I'll be sure to. I'll get Zack, Kain, and Jim in on it. I'll be sure to send you footage of the whole thing. Could you imagine Kain sliding around?

[So she has something fun to watch where she wakes up at \o/]

With that freaking helmet on? That'll be great.

[ She hopes she gets to see it. ]

Let's see if he'll go for it. Zack will definitely help convince him.

[If not, he can see if they can stick the helmet over Zack's wild mane.]

Hey, just tell him I said "please". I think I've got some brownie points on account of dying.

[ That... was so much more morbid than she intended. ]

[It takes a while for him to respond because the reality of her situation smacks him in the face. He was doing a good job at pretending she will be okay and he'll see her again. He still has things to grab for her at the store. He still needs to locate some more stuffed friends for her, too.

Once he's regained his determination and hope of seeing her again, he responds.]

Yeah, maybe that will help convince him. I'll be sure to tell him it was a request from our favorite source of information.

Wow. [ She's impressed and flattered. ] I never thought I'd be up there with Google.

I don't know sure who or what Google is, but it has to be pretty up there, right?

[He can actually read through her information posts without wanting to sleep. That's an accomplishment :)]

You have encyclopedias? It's like an encyclopedia of all the information in the world. You put in a search and it finds pages with what you're looking for.

Yeah, we have encyclopedias. We have computers, but the network is restricted to Garden only. There used to be crazy interference that made it impossible for any radio waves or net.

Where I'm from the net is international, even in remote or less developed places. Encyclopedias are online, and so are all of the people. But if you're looking for information, you search Google.
