[The voice that starts speaking sounds alert, but every once in a while he makes a slightly pained noise as he speaks.]

Say a guy was groping around in the dark-- wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. Say he cut himself open without meaning to and keeps reopening the cut on his hand.

If a situation like that happened, would anyone have happened to have found medical supplies?

I did. I do not recognize everything, but I came across a small box of things such as gauze and ointment last night.

[Her limited vocabulary for things in this world is really starting to grow irritating. Still, the girl that appears on screen looks focused. Maybe she can actually help someone here for once, instead of just watching uselessly as they suffer.]

Do you have any clues as to your location?

I have not found any medical supplies, though a scarf that could be used either as a tourniquet or bandage. Have you found anything that could be used as such, even ripped fabric from a bed in one of these houses?

[It's not until much later in the evening when Clayton starts sifting through recent network posts and notices this one, but he's certainly not turning away from it.]

Hypothetically speakin', I'd say I ain't got any medical supplies, but I could give advice on how to treat it if I could see how bad it is. Would this theoretical guy be able to help me with that?

[Yeah, he's playing along. A little bit of humor to make the situation less terrifying for the bleeding man, he hopes. Sometimes it works.]

I'm afraid I haven't come across anything like that. [And she does sound genuinely apologetic, but there's no mistaking the fact she isn't particularly happy about the idea of someone being injured and there being an utter lack of even basic medical supplies.] But you may be able to work with what you have there.

[Says the woman who's sealed bullet wounds with super glue.]

It... wasn't a very good hypothetical, was it? Greed switches to video, because it's awkward just speaking into this flat phone anyway.]

I was in a black house the other day, that's how I cut my hand. Couldn't see where I'm going.

I went... north, I think. Met a couple of people in the current place I'm at, but I can't give you an exact location.

I tore a couch up. The fabric's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

I keep re-opening the cut anyway. Kinda frustrating. That's why I think bandages or gauze might help me; might be better than old couch fabric when it comes to keeping in place

[...Whoops, he forgot to mention the hypothetical guy there.]

Yeah-- gotta be prepared for any situation, eh?

[He's vaguely aware he's not fooling anyone, but Greed has his pride.]

We'll say this guy has something covering his hands right now, it's just not very good covering. Getting pretty useless pretty quickly, if you want the truth.

[He pauses, thoughtful.

Maybe Greed should have taken more care with his wording-- made it sound like it was less about him.]

If I had a needle and thread, I could probably sew my hand back up.

That being said, he's so used to healing instantly, he doesn't know what to do here.]

There have been many replies over the metal square, perhaps one here is a healer that can offer assistance. You might have to be on light duty to stem the bleeding properly, or if you make fire, perhaps cauterize the wound.

[She would apologize if she felt there was anything to apologize for. But there's no sense beating around the bush if you're bleeding, guy.

Zelda deflates at little upon hearing Greed's answer.]

I am far to the south still, I fear. My traveling companion and I have had to backtrack every time we have attempted to move north out of fear of being too far from shelter upon hearing the tablet's warning each night.

Do you have anything to keep it clean? You could melt snow for water, perhaps.

[Greed is one of the only ones that Al will show his face to over this thing. Even if he isn't sure where they stand on being friends, or even allies, Al still doesn't want Greed to get hurt here. Nobody should be getting hurt here.]

Do you know where you are? Have you found one of the walls?

[To be fair, how many people aren't referring to themselves when they start talking about a hypothetical other person? Regardless, he confirms her suspicions relatively quickly, and she takes just a moment to consider that response.]

Unfortunately, I haven't even found anything as simple as that. [And then a beat later.] How badly are you cut?

What kinda coverin' has this guy got, and how long has he been wearin' it? If I were him, and I didn't have no bandages on me, I'd be changin' that dressin' pretty frequent.

[He's quiet, thinking carefully.]

I've got a frying pan. I could probably gather some snow it that. And I've got some cloth I got from tearing up a couch-- if you end up in a building with the couch cushions torn up, sorry about that.

Haven't run into a doctor yet. You've got a point, though.

I think... think we probably need to come up with a map of some kind. If we can figure out how big this place is-- how many days it takes to travel from end to end.

I'd rather not try using fire, even if it's a decent suggestion. It's my dominant hand that's injured.

[He's.... kind of under-dressed here, um.

It's a miracle he hasn't died from exposure yet.]

[He's quiet for a moment-- rustling can be heard as he looks at his hand. The bleeding has slowed, which is good. It's still going to make handling things a pain for a while, though.]

Looks like it didn't hit bone. [A beat.] Or an artery.

Might heal on its own, but I'm pretty used to not having injuries stick around, if you get my meaning.

[There's some amount of relief when he hears Al's voice. Who knows where they stand, but he's grateful just the same.]

I've been traveling north for several days. Haven't reached a wall yet, though.

[That doesn't help at all, it means he has no frame of reference as to where Greed might be in relation to himself. He huffs, an audible hissing sound through the tablet.]

Then I can't come and help you, but I can talk you through how to bind a cut.

[He pauses, voice softer.]

I guess you've never had to worry about that before, huh?

I've got some bandages.

[Well, sort of. He's calling them bandages-- foam and cloth from the couches. They're all he's got.]

I've never bruised so easily before. Never had cuts I actually need to worry about before.

Hope I don't get.... what's that thing called? Gangrene.

You won't if you're sensible about it, you need to make sure to wash the cut first and then keep regularly washing the cut and the bandages.

[He's assuming bandages are in short supply. The ideal would be to use fresh ones every so often, but washing them out will have to do.]

[He laughs, because he doesn't know what else to do.]

It's a good thing I found a frying pan; I can collect water that way.

[That gives her pause, but only just slightly. And perhaps not for the reasons one might expect.]

I see.

There's still risk of infection, which we're even more poorly equipped to treat. You'll need to disinfect the wound as best you can, wrap it, control the bleeding and keep it clean.

If our captors did not want us to make do with what we have, they should have supplied us better.

[Tear up as many couches as you want, Greed.]

It is a start, I suppose. I am sorry, I wish I were able to do more.

[He laughs.]

Fight those in charge, huh? I like that.

I don't even know if these captors of real. There doesn't seem to be much evidence of them-- they don't ever reply to anything people say.

[Greed's quiet for a while.]

I'm sure I'll heal. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and find something I can use for a bandage.
